Damn AI bots... (I will E-mail VALVe)

I was playing single player today with bots, and could not shake how stupid some of the mistakes they were doing...

First of all, why the hell does Bill always feel its necessary to startle the witch? Every game with bots I have played, Bill is the one to do it. We were even past one and near the saferoom and, I am not shitting you, he just looked at it and then shot it. Seriously, WTF?!

Also, they always heal when not necessary. Bots have healed me when I'm high in the yellow with temporary health and even healed themselves when they were at about 75 and someone else was in the red!

Sometimes their stupidity just amazes me. Francis was hanging on a ledge, so Zoey hops accross to save him. When hes up, Zoey starts to come back and gets stuck on a ledge. Seriously?

Plus, the fact that they never use ANY type of bombs really annoys me. I found rooms with enough bombs for 8 survivors and they just stared at them.

Seriously, VALVe needs to fix this and soon. I know many will just say "Play with friends or other people". My friends aren't on too much and most other people don't know what the hell they're doing. If you agree sign here and I'll E-mail VALVe with a link to this.

I just love when you try to rush to the safe room and one of them decides to heal you ... when the horde comes.

Or when i try to sneak behind the witch and suddently one opens fire on her.

At least i'm not bothered to leave them behind when i get in the safe room, unlike human players.

The AI can be good but seriously these are stupid little things that can ruin a campaign.

This is probably my only complaint with the AI.

The bots are pretty decent with health, with their superhuman aim and ability to sense boss infected from miles away, and they usually give you health. I agree sometimes it can be wonky though. I've played games where i take some pills and then start moving but stop because one of the bots decides to heal me. I've learned that if you want one of the bots health kits and your not green, just go stand next to them for a few seconds, they should start using it on you.

^ YO same thing, whenever I play SP Bill ALWAYS shoots the witch.

Heck there was this once instance, where I was reviving Francis from an in-cap. I'm on low health, and an infected comes up to me to hit me. And Francis doesn't even shoot it. Louis, whos like a foot away, just looks at me as its running towards me.

Another instance, where some clumsiness puts me hanging from the ledge. All 3 AI buddies come over, and look at me and don't even help me up.

And then the AI Bots RUN INTO THE TANKS. W. T. F.

Not to mention the fact that when you're idle at the beginning of a map, they often forget to pick up medkits.

On the high difficulties, bots seem to be usefull in some situations, because they kill the most special infected before you even see them. But in the final they are to stupid to have a chance. 2 human und 2 bots on expert and you have no chance, cause they just run around and die most times even befor the first tank appears.

Yesterday I tried Death Toll final with a friend. We were in the boat house und I run upstears to the minigun to look after some molotovs and what did I see? Louis breaking the shelves on the window instead of using the door to go inside... WTF??

Having at least one bot ensures that you will be saved from a boss zombie in less than 2 seconds (mostly).

I decided to play Blood Harvest on single player yesterday. I was on the second chapter (I suppose it was) near the safe room. To describe the area better, it was after the emergency room, upstairs, and on the right pathway with the debris and the fire pit. I died close to the fire pit by reasons I forget. Bill bot ends up dieing somehow before hand. I'm slowly bleeding out by the red train car near the fire pit, and Zoey-bot and Francis-bot are three feet from me. There is not ONE zombie and I have full bleed-out health. BUT WAIT! THE AI WON'T BUDGE! Francis decides he wants to stay in the fire pit at 80 health and fall down three times and die (Zoey kept picking him up, but not me). So I had to stare at the AI staring at me while I bled out sssllloooollllyyy.

Not the first time that happened either. Countless times I've been strangled by a smoker, only to receive the stares of my artificial comrades.

It's impossible to get it when playing with people from the Public lobby. =/

My biggest problem with bots is that they will walk into your line of fire. Bill mostly. Oh, and when there is a car spinning towards them, they just look at it.

I had an idea to kill my AI partners then do it on easy with the auto shotty. Maybe that will work. Get Man Vs Tank while you are at it too.

Or when they stay on the 1st floor of the farm house at the finale when the other 3 players are on the 2nd floor?

There are countless obsurdities with the AI bots.

Wow... the exact same thing happened to me when I played single player. Whats wrong with Billy anyways? Witch reminds him of his dead wife or something?

I was so pissed off at the bots I decided never to play singleplay unless if I remove incap and play solo. xD
