GOD. I just got done playing the best game EVA, [Of course left 4 dead], and I am sincerely pissed. I joined a game, and three kids were in it. When I start the game as bill, I have 70% health and a kit. Problem was, he had an uzi. I for some reason, suck with the uzi. And after a guy was incapped by the horde, he immediatly blamed it on me. I said how is it my fault? His answer is, well you should have helped me. I ignored this, and I even gave him my fucking health. Then later on, we hear the tank, and as i'm running away with the rest, the leader of the game realizes that I have the most health. The following conversation ensues.....

He tries to kick me, but the teammates think hes an ass, and are on my side. But in the time it took him to get the vote started, the tank got to him, and I laughed as the tank smacked his flabby ass all around the place. Then we kill the tank, and he starts another vote. This time, I get voted out. But it wasnt just this one game. I play M rated games online, and only M rated games. I hope that by doing that, I can avoid these retarded kids. What is it with the parents these days? Is the second the kids fucking mouth opens, the parents go and buy him an M rated game?? IT SAYS 17 AND UP, YOU DUMB FUCKS. God I hate those idiots. People who think there all that, and kids ruin games. When they combine, they form a stupid mass of DUMBASSERY. Dumbassurasation, It's real, google that shit. GOD. You do realize that these kids learn this stuff from the adults that play. The reason some kids are jerks in online games is because people are jerks to them in online for absolutely no reason. I hesitated too long, I knew they were gonna votekick me, and the best counter is a preemptive votekick against them. Sometimes, people will think it's the vote to kick YOU and vote YES kicking the other person and sometimes it's obvious they're the ones who need to be kicked.

I got kicked, but I had the ip so I rejoined when the temp. ban ended.

That's why you always use your deeper voice (if you're a guy) to tell them that you're black. I usually play with a black friend of mine, he usually gets them to shut up. Truth be told, most teenagers who act like that get scared shitless when they find out that someone they're playing with is actually black :P

Personally, I like playing with kids and welcoming them (as long as they work as a team and don't act like idiots) because when I first started playing online (around the age of 11) people always told me not to use my mic. It's like raising a child: teach them what to do correctly and what not to do. Eventually, ittle turn them into a decent player who you can enjoy playing with later.

It's ok to be new at the game. Just make it clear to your teammates that you're still learning. Hopefully they won't be dicks about it.

Oh, and /ragequits are a huge problem in this game. It's hard to start a versus game with random people and keep them in the game. When one side does well or gets owned in the first round, the losing side usually quits. :'(

I guess I'm a minority because I'm very forgiving when it comes to friendly fire and I always help out my teammates and I get along with almost anyone. Yeah. I guess the biggest problem is with people acting like they're hot stuff I'm also "hot stuff" because I played doom since I was 4 and I owned at it. I didn't understand the concept of violence back then and good thing I didn't have people putting bad shit to me from there. I can also vouch for the "monkey hear monkey say" arguement that you have going because I learned almost all the bad language from xbox live. The thing that's funny though is that I have never been vote kicked because I own at both sides even though I sound like I'm 4 (I'm 14). I also coordinate most of our attacks and show newbies the ropes and major chokepoints for both teams.

In summary: I have ruled at video games since I was 4 :D and even though I have a highish pitched voice, I never get vote kicked because of my skill level.


The funny thing though is that my first match was with a kid and I can definately see where you are coming from. We were playing subway on No Mercy and he grabbed his stuff and ran out really fast. A boomer vomited on him when he jumped down and infected instantly swarmed him. He started screaming on his mic, "Help me! Help me!" But it was high pitched making it somewhat annoying. So I rush down there and start shooting the horde and by this time he is down already, and he died when I cleared the horde. Then he mumbles, "this game isn't fair" and leaves. EPIC LULZ! Also, I think that it is fine for people younger than the permitted age to play, as long as their voice actually sounds fine. I'm 16, and I play M games almost exclusively, and people are fine with me. I sound like I'm in my twenties, so as long as you sound the part, then play the part. Kids are OK, I'll give them a chance, no problem. I was once new to some games (even tho I'm not young myself!) It's when I'm playing with two friends and waiting for one to reboot his PC and this kid joins in and starts telling us where to put things and where to stand. You got all three of us telling him that we're going with a certain strategy and he seems to know it all...

I agree that it's what they hear on games that probably thinks they've got to talk like that. Older people have a responsibility to teach the younger lot how to act correctly. It's a difficult and thankless job but from the posts I've read so far, there are some people out there who are trying! :-)

I havent gotten a chance to play this game online yet (xbox got the ring of death.. grrr) however i just know im gonna come accross the same problem. All games no mater what their rated are gonna have stupid little kids that have the voice of 7 year old girls. But no it cant be just their voices that are annoying, instead they have to ruin the game for everyone also by tk'ing and everything else u can think of. Luckily we can just mute them but having to do that everygame gets pretty repetitive. the little british kids are the worst. on the subject of kids playing l4d - apart from the fact its an 18 rated game most of you are correct in saying that not all kids are annoying and bad at the game however lets see what you make of my experience last night playing a campaign game on blood harvest.

Myself and a friend both very much so over 18 (24 and 32 respectively) joined a lobby that another 2 people had started and the game began as soon as we joined without hearing their voices. Once in the game the high-pitched american (no offence i'm just describing the scenario) prepubescent voices begin and the first of the 2, the &quot;room master&quot;, decided to run off ahead leaving us behind and saying to his friend to follow him to find the witch....FIND THE WITCH!!! are you insane!? leave her alone for gods sake! is pretty much what i said after hearing this.
So anyway this carried on for the next level with him running off calling for his little friend to catch up and neither of them seemed bothered about us &quot;older guys&quot; at all, never mind the fact its a TEAM game! Eventually they found the witch and to my amazement the only reason they had started this game was to get the &quot;crownd&quot; acheivement by killing her in one head shot to which they failed on epic proportion and she sooned downed them both when the 2nd kid, who was the one needing the achievement , somehow messed it up.

So we helped them up and I tried to get them to play as a team but no no no they carried on bitching and moaning the whole time and blaming us for not keeping up with the &quot;room master&quot;, I jokingly said at one point &quot;omg what are you? like 9?!&quot; to which the room master replied no way man we're 11!!!

Cause that made a difference!

So for calling him 9 my punishment was to have molitovs thrown at me apparently and then be kicked....however you need 3 outta 4 votes to be kicked and since my friend was in the game with me....they couldnt kick either of us! LoL so by the end of the second level we'd had enough and just shot them a lot and did whatever we could to kill them off and upon returning to the safe room we carried shooting them and just laughed a lot at them moaning until we got bored and were about to leave.....it was at this point I realised we were in fact playing on the &quot;easy&quot; difficulty setting.

now I'm all for the youth of today getting involved in &quot;grown up games&quot; cause some of them are actually really good so providing they are mature enough then I'm ok with them but in this case - hell no.

in closing i have one solution - post there gamertags here so we can avoid them all....sounds like a plan to me and by the time they mature (if) many new games I'm sure will have taken L4Ds place - what do you think?

One of my highest scoring games was with a kid who was 11, me and the two other survivors all know each other irl. We started nicely asking if he would stay close and hurry when we ask. He agreed. By the finale he was asking for orders. It was like how the bots should have worked. We would say, don't go upstairs, its going to get you killed. He would say, sorry, where should I stand. It was great to have a teammate that was actually in it for the team. I kinda feel bad that we bossed him around, but he seemed to appreciate that when he made a mistake and got smoker pulled in a really bad spot we would chase him down and save him. I've played with kids a few times but only once did a brat get on my nerves. Mostly they're just bad players and their voices are annoying (why do they all sound the same????). I met a brat while playing versus and he got annoyed with me because I only hit one person one time when I became the Tank. But there was nothing I could do: the survivors were GOOD players - they ran into a tunnel as soon as they heard the Tank's theme music and waited for me to show up. They knew if they all shot at the same time I'd go down before I reached the end of the tunnel and they were right. The brat was furious but he didn't vote to kick me. Maybe he would have but I left.

Well i'm 13 years old and play L4D and admit i can act childish but not 24/7 i can actully get quite serious while playing games, i dont have a squeeky voice it's suprisingly deep for my age any way.

sorry you guys, I've been off the internet ever since china hacked internet explorer, but now I've got google chrome and I'm good to go. I agree with boomer to a point, but I stand on some arguments. If kids play the game right, then we will have no problems. However, I'm a first impression kinda guy, and after every kid you've run into was either trying to be black, or being an ass in general, I tend to think the majority is that way. However, I'm not saying kids are the only ones. I'm also talking about the early twenties kinda gamer. I've met a lot of great people, but at the same time, a lot of people are just like counter strike. That has to be the most competitive game I've ever played. And when I play a co-op game, I'll take orders if they're good, but calling me a gay ass nigga faggot when I don't comply or steal a kill is only gonna get you a vote kick or team kill. To be honest I only read the first page, but I want to voice my opinion anyway.

I have never met a kid with a squeaky voice in L4D, but I have in Halo 3, CoD4 and TF2. What I do is I open the team list, click their name and I choose mute this player. It works wonders, trust me.

In L4D the only people I've met with mikes are guys who sound like they're 18 to 24 and they understand me pretty well, but sometimes you'll get an &quot;adult&quot; who really is from &quot;the hood&quot; and he will mess the game up for you.

And I'm really glad when I hear a female voice, from experience I know they will never blame you and the majority of the time use teamwork.

I'm 16.

So just understand that the next time you meet a kid use the mute feature that the gaming gods have given us. That or just leave, the kid or adult is enjoying themselves, who are you to ruin their version of fun anyway?

When you have to mute players in a co op game, then you obviously shouldn't even be in the match.
