Internet Dating Service?

Hope this website really kicks off when the game releases... steampowered.com/official forums suck hard. 411 ftw.

Well, this sure will have a lot of info, cheats, walkthroughts, guides for the players too, I can expect this becomes 10x greater than it is at the moment.

Steam forums are full of crap, I can only see stupid threads coming and coming and many spam

I hope this doesn't turn into a 'NORMAL' forum! (Every single forum i've been in, except for this and one more wich i won't mention ended being shit, i remember when in GTAREVOLUTION, there were Corrupted moderators, massive flamming directly to a few persons and crazy southamericans who spammed and then wanted to hack the forum)

Also this forum needs improvements too, more sections per example, PM system, perhaps moderators, some rules clearly put by the admins in a post.

About the material the web has it even has more info than the official web, so i don't complain.

Just woke up, don't care of this if i said something horrible

cheating is good sometimes
only after you completed a game
i dont mean cheating in like a online game or something
thats actually hacking
so anyways cheating is good sometimes

Yeah, we'll have lots of stuff like Conde said. We'll have lots of strategy guides for all of the boss infected and for the maps/weapons, including video for strategy, information on updates and leagues and clans, etc., etc.. We ain't goin nowhere.

dontleave is right
if you actually came here for updates then you shouldnt be coming here at all. Do you expect to get an update everyday?
There is hardly any updates, actually there is never any updates unless its scheduled events that we know about ahead of time.(shodownlan,e3,etc)
if you come here for updates then look on the latest discussions page, if you dont see anything then leave.
I for one know that i will be here, hell im already here everyday.
And im sure im not alone, i know dontleave will be here with us also.

I post out of interest for the game to hear from others who like the game. If you talk to someone you never met in real life about something you both like, you could have a lengthy conversation, but that doesn't mean you care for them or find them a friend. Simple as that, I don't give a shit about any of you, yet I speak to you because of relative material which is L4D. If you don't like it, than go sit in your corners and cry. If you're so defensive about your online family than you can all be buddies, nearly all of you don't even know each other in real life if not all so it's pretty pathetic but you can go on all you want protecting your online cult =]

Dude I'll give you an example of what your telling me.
You are on a bus and talking to someone about l4d, and you two are having a great conversation. All of the sudden someone comes on the bus and starts shooting, then person that you just got done talking to about l4d is now dead. Are you telling me you wouldnt have any kind of feelings toward that person that feels the same way that you do about something?
If so i feel sorry for you brother
o yea and protecting my online cult?
After you talk to people on this forum you feel a certain little bond with them. Even if you dont know them, you can tell what type of person they are by the way that they post and how they feel about things you do.

That's exactly what I'm saying, it sounds cruel and what not but in that situation whenever someone asks you about it you say "I spoke to him about this but didn't really know him", and I do have something like that in my life. That would be a girl I knew in Jr. High who I spoke to a little bit and she was on the news the day after this school year ended because she died in a car accident. Sure I felt remorse but did I really have a great loss on my hands or feelings of sorrow and regret? No, because I only spoke to her, I wasn't great friends with her.

I can understand feeling a bond between people because It was the same with me and Metal gear Online and the Gamefaqs board, we all played together and were great friends. But the way you guys get all offended when someone comes in and says something negative not even specified to be attacking someone or something, it's kinda ridicolous. I'll say this, I'm a realist when it comes to things and though not everything I say is the nicest thing it is the truth. So if you guys chose to take it the way you do and start defending yourselves in such a hostile way, this is what you get.

When the game is released Squerl and Frogopus will be able to start looking at the future of the site in more detail. At the moment the focus is on new media and info on the game, as this is what matters most.

When we have the game they can focus more on adding content to the site, as being able to actually play the game and getting feedback from others about the game will open up a lot more possibility's for the site:P

hooray for zombies
07-15-2007, 12:17 PM
honestly Xero, I think that you're being a little hyperbolic. People have written to give reasons why they are staying, but no one has directly attacked you for your decision not to stay. Meanwhile you have gone completely on the defensive, acting like we are condemning you for your decision to leave while, in the end, it is entirely your decision and it shouldn't bother you if people think you should stay.

Little Postscript: We are hardly a cult, just a close-knit online community which happens to enjoy talking among itself

I'm acting defensive simply in the act that I should be, and the fact that someone goes "If you don't like it don't post" is hillarious to me because that person is all serious because he can't handle something in a civilized way such as you at least which I can respect.

Whilest people have written to why they're staying, I asked why someone would think it's gonna be so amazing and I got an answer. Once again the only reason an arguement starts is because people are so offensive about their community and take it the completely wrong way.

what are you talking about dude
you say you come here for updates not the people. All that "i dont give a shit about you guys" could have been kept to yourself.
And i never said if you dont like it dont post
I said if you dont see any updates then dont post because thats pretty much the reason your here, the updates not the people.
But wait.... if you where here for the updates and not the people then you wouldnt be talking to the people know would you?

I'm calm, if you wanna call me a jackass that's fine too. It's your opinion and that's ok.

I've stated before the reason I talk to people is because the common subject is L4D and I'm interested in that. And that is why I talk to the people here, because I don't with many other people. But as far as it goes, I couldn't care less about everyone here. Except for my soon to be 360 buddie Ethe =] As for everyone else, talking about experiences or what not would be great and all. It's not bad to talk casually with someone, and that's what I'm here to do.

Yes I'm here for updates, I'm also here to see what people have to say. And that's why I post, if ya don't like me, get over it =] Cuz I won't stop posting, and it's not like I'm raging a big storm to make arguements and really it's you guys that do it.

I'm my opinion theres not much point in having a community forum before a game is released.
I mean, if you look at the topics on this forum, 75% are offtopic. the other 25% are either people complaining about the release date, speculating about something or asking questions about the game no one can answer.
Once the game has been released, people can discuss favorite tactics, favorite maps, new custom maps, interesting playing experiences. People can arrange games with other forum members they get on with (or don't).
People can talk about different aspects of the game they enjoy, what works and what doesn't. Does seeing survivors through the wall really help gameplay? or does it detract from the game experience. Do you like the model for the shotgun? or are you going to make a replacement one for people who feel the same way.

These forums always seem to degenerate into bickering because theres little else to discuss.

I completely agree. I think the forum has been great pre release, but when the game is released it will take on a whole new meaning!
