Now to WHY it Fails: The frame rate is unplayable. it feels like a constant 20 Frames per second, [WHICH IS TERRIBLE] ive played mannnyyy co-op games why so, my roommates enjoy playing with me. and we've never experienced such a crappy fps factor in a game in our lives. Gears of war 2 feels so fluid in co-op split screen and doesn't lose a bit of detail too. halo 3 can go up to 4 player split screen and only lose a bit of detail and still run at a fluid frame rate. Call of duty: WaW is the same deal, great frames and good detail. so what now? are we who have an xbox 360, who have friends who happen to play, with us get screwed? unless Valve finds something better to do like, well fix this. i think co-op [Split Screen.]on L4D [XBOX360] is pronounced dead.

PS: i have the PC version. and no i don't have a crappy PC. mine is actually quite good. [Dual 4870's]

I disliked split screen too, but I found a solution.

I changed the screen split from vertical to horizontal. It fixed the controls and imo the game looks a bit better.

I did notice the slower framerate, but its nothing surprising, I'm just glad its in the game (and I'm really glad its in multiplayer). And on the subject of COD5, I've turned around in splitscreen and not seen any of the props for a split second. It was wierd.

I haven't noticed it being slow at all, but I have only played non split like 4 or 5 times. I almost always play split. I was surprised that it wasn't 4 player splitscreen when I first got it but now I realize there is no way you could spot smokers unless you were an inch away from the tv.

I've played lots of split screen games on both a large 42 inch HDTV, and a small 21 inch tv. I haven't noticed anything more than some minor lag, if any at all, even online.

Its way better than single player bcuz you get to play right next to your buddies, I barely notice the change in frame rate!

I don't really know why you are complaining. If I read the first post correctly, you are complaining about how the 360 version has a bad split-screen. You also said you have the PC version.

Well, I play split screen all the time, and I notice no frame rate drops. I really dont see what you're talking about. If your buddy has a 360, why not rent a copy for a system link match? Better graphics, enhanced frame rate, and you can see what the fuck you're actually doing.

P.S. Doug Lambordi [I know I misspelled that, don't hate, internet trolls], recently said that split screen was going to be a problem with left 4 dead, because you have to basically play two games on one screen. So maybe its not the games problem, but your TV?

I've played Split-screen with my friends, It's not terrible. It's the same thing as regular Single Player. Maybe it's your 360? Or you bought a shit version of the game.

Maybe it is slower because all of the things going on ingame and registering it. I am not that great at xbox things, just maybe harder to render in two screens? O.o

I personally think the game runs fine considering its handling random spawns, enemy AI for dozens upon dozens of characters, not to mention if youre online or not. You cant simply compare Gears or COD to L4D. Theyre not all made the same way. The mechanics arent even REMOTELY the same. Now comparing the SAME game on different consoles/PCs THEN I can see where youd have a leg to stand on.
