View Full Version : Something very strange I saw...

Last night at around midnight, I was heading into bed and saw this light coming in through my window... I went to shut the shades and noticed something... At first I thought it was a light post, then thought "What the hell would a light post be doing in my neighbor's yard?", so I think it's lighting from another house. No houses near me are that high up or have a window shaped like that. Then I thought it was the moon, but it was way too bright to be the moon. It also wasn't a completely normal shape, and seemed to be spread out a little... It was kind of a bright yellow grey high up in the sky, and it looked like a constilation of stars but I knew it was way to bright to be that... I've heard about something scientists discovered in space thats visible to the naked eye, and I think that's what this is... Can anybody provide any insight on this or tell me what it is that the scientists found? Cause I really wanna know what it was...

I think you are referring to this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dream)

I was not dreaming deadly. I was definitely awake and I wasn't hallucinating. I didn't fall asleep till about 1 AM and I don't remember what I dreamed about. I'll let you know if I see it again tonight.

Ok... To clear things up...
-I was NOT on drugs of any kind.
-I was NOT dreaming.
-I was NOT hallucinating.
-I'm NOT crazy.
-I was NOT smoking someone's asscrack.
Can someone please explain what this is?

i'd like to ask a question
How the hell would people on a l4d forum know what YOU saw?
Cuz i'd guess it was drugs/crack as well.
-I'm NOT crazy.

LOL, just messin' with you :P
what region do you live in? if you're in the southwest u.s. it could have been experimental aircraft, idk was it at high altitude or literally in your neighbors back yard?

I live in New Jersey, so North East. It was at a very high altitude. I'm pretty sure it was what scientists were talking about, but I can't be sure until I find out what the name of that thing is...
Scientists were talking about something bright in space that could be seen with the naked eye.

super nova?
twisted/wishful thinking: a meteor carrying a mutated intergalactic strain of some uber zombie virus?!

super nova?
There isn't one happening for awhile.

That might have been what it was but a super nova lasting that long and that bright? Uncommon but it could happen... Guess I'll google that.

true, not in our galactic neighborhood anyway. its not unheard of for an uncharted star to go off but they're usually in deep space.

Maybe an aurora? Although I'm also more convinced of iH8's drug theory...

No it looked nothing like that...
maybe ur schizophrenic and just seeing things or u are on drugs.. maybe it was aliens... or maybe your making this up for whatever reason. no pics no evidence.
btw last time i checked supernovas are in space.. not someones yard. if there happened to be a supernova close enough to earth liek that it would have been in the news. check out the papers who knows. until u find out your legally insane :P

First off, I'm not schizo. Not on drugs. It coulda been aliens god knows what it was. I'll try and get a pic tonight though and yes it has been in the news, I've seen pics looking exactly like what I saw, but I didn't read the article because that was before I saw this.
Listed in order of probability: (lowest to highest)
1. A passing car with it's brights on?
2. A helicopter with it's spotlight on?
3. A hallucination due to lack of sleep/need of sleep?
No, I don't think you're crazy, but I do however think that you were in need of sleep, and that you probably hallucinated something.
I know that I hallucinate all the time when I need sleep, it's nothing to worry about.

You are in no position to make fun of someone after that post....
Actually, read this (http://www.world-science.net/othernews/080320_grb.htm). Did a report about this specific supernova. Was so bright that we could see it with the naked eye when before it "supernova'd" telescopes couldn't even see it.

@Infest
could it be that you are from Colorado?
Edit: something like that?

That's from Marc 20th... This happened last night. But we are definitely on the same page.

1. Cars are definitely in the sky...
2. I would've heard the chopper.
3. I'm pretty sure if I were hallucinating, it would've been in my room, not right outside my window peeking through the shades.
and yes i was joking about the drug and schizo stuff. im not an astronomer but ya maybe the angle cud have been a supernova, if it was in the news could have very well been that, maybe it was a shooting star, unless u saw it for awhile. since ur prob not northern hemisphere it isent northern lights. looks like a case only barnaby jones can solve

It was there for about a good hour, then I dozed off and I'm not sure what will happen tonight. Plus it wasn't moving at all.

A normal person would have taken a picture.
Thus I don't believe you.

At the time I didn't think to plus I couldn't find my camera.
