Beta... It's like telling a starving person would you rather wait for a gormet restaurant with a 2 hour line up and a 1 hour wait or just go to KFC...

Depends on what makes it 'beta'
Some beta releases are vitually finished products, but have been released in order to find any little bugs that might still be there.
Other beta releases are really rough, early productions.
If they released a beta that was as good as insurgencies beta release, that would be cool.

There is no question in my mind.
BETA.

Well i suppose the first release will be sort of a beta anyway because they will get a lot of feedback and info which they will use to put into the auto updates (patch's) on steam

You're joking, right? Insurgency is the most bug-riddled beta released this year. Constant crashes, abysmal performance, to name a few. It's fun, but even the notion of TRS releasing a product as unstable as INS is enough to cause asphyxiation.

WiC beta isn't bad, release it with the same quality as that... Perhaps only the survivors playable and 2 scenarios.

This is what i don't get, the game to me looks practically finished. We have seen the game in action with game play of the survivors and infected
...i think they're still working on the maps and making tweaks here and there, i don't think theres any major work to be done with it. :)

I think they're secretly participating in the Valve million dollar poker tournament

the wisdom in your words is unquestionable.

They could put the pre-order on steam, then release beta for those that pre-order it through steam.

I don't care, it will be out soon, so I can wait. =)

Screw a finished game! Its finished enough for my tastes now. I'd much rather have a beta than wait any longer!

???
Only bug I've noticed so far is muzzle flashes through walls, pretty minor tbh. All the crashing and TK'ing bugs were fixed within 48hours. I don't drop below 30fps on any map, so it runs fine for me :D

They really need to optimize maps on Insurgency, some guy ran the same map on GMod and got an extra 40 FPS... The maps look identical and not degraded. INS team should have just used the same coding as them... >.<
