I remember way back during development it was stated by one of the Devs that 'No person could play the tank more than once until every other player got to'. Maybe this has been said already, but I've seen the same person get three tanks in a row, and other players never get to be them.
This can be irritating for two reasons:
a) if that person sucks at the tank it's basically a throwaway of a good opportunity
b) Those who want to play as the tank may never get the option.

Also, I remember when there was apparently a 'Red Like or Arrow' that pathed the survivors likely route. Obviously this has been omitted, and while their path is rather obvious, I just wanna know what they removed it.

If we don't remember, it never happened. So..... Shhhhhhhhhhh.

I've gotten tank three times in a row once. While fun, I pity my teammates.

Dunno on a.

b, the original maps were to be "open" and have multiple directions to take. This would of helped the infected gage which way to go to set up some ambushes. So when the maps got shrunk to be linear the option wasn't needed.

they should make it so you could pass up being the tank, sometimes i hate playing as they tank and id like to pass it on to someone else

This may be the smartest thing I may have heard from a new member here. I've been the tank 3 times in a row and wanted my teammates to be it instead. Nice idea man.

And welcome to the forums :)

I would have quite preferred it too be a "you're up next" kinda rotation.
B is just bad luck.
They'll be the Tank at some point in their L4D career.

For some reason I always play as a tank, and quite frankly would love to be able to give it to a teammate who never got the chance yet.

I've played as two different tanks during a single finale (xbox), on two seperate occasions. And strangely enough on one of them I actually wound up as the first "escape spawned" tank as well.

I'm not a good tank when the survivors have room to run, I get kited way too easy. I would have gladly given up the second shot.

Well, there is a kinda method to pass the tank. If you stay out of sight for a certain time you'll lose control and another player will have the tank.
Still you need to waste that precious time in a crucial moment, so a resign button would be appreciated.

I know it's not a comfortable way, and not always easy to do without endangering the tank but, why not wait for the frustration meter to be down, that's what I do when I have some ugly ping being the tank.
Of course I tell my team.

I read somewhere the AI D choose the player depending on it's score.
Is it still real ? or totally random ?

I think it is based on scores yes
I see alot of people becoming tank when they have the highest score
But then, when i see someone with only 8 points become tank i'm clueless

Most of the time that I see a person get the tank twice in a row the rest of the team is really really bad and have scores < 100.
