Question. Is fraps the best recording device or is it better to use the built in recording device

Using the built-in tools is not enough. They let you save a demo file, not a video. All you can do with that demo, is replay it in the game engine. That's what you then record with something like Fraps.

oh huh. I didn't know you could do that. I have always tried using FRAPS while i was playing and it took 20 off my fps and made the game unplayable. I guess Ill try this then.

OK,

I want to make vids, but FRAPS is shit. I have the full version of it too.
The fps suck, and for some reason I don't get sound. There's also long pauses in the video. I've tried other free recording programs, but they don't even compare to the shittiness of fraps.

My question:
WTF can I use to record my games with sound? I don't want to record IRL, but actually what I'm seeing in my monitor.
