Wall hack

It's official, there is now a wallhack for L4D as well. Was playing with someone names NeoAssassin, was melee exploiting and clearly wall hacking. If anyone cares, "NeoAssassin" STEAM_1:1:1949609 is his steam if you wanna perma-ban from your servers. still managed to kill him two rounds though.

Who says he wallhacks, there is a bug that lets you see the outlines of the infected as a survivor
only happened to me once, a week or 2 ago

Yeah indeed. When I play as infected I can see through walls.
btw it's not very believable to just claim that someone used a hack and post his/her steam id without linking a demo to proof it

2) smart guesses (especially on the boomer, he often waits in similar places)
3) damn model clipping through the wall

I shoot the boomers through wall very often. I just hear the gurgle and BLAM... boomer dead. And many of those times it has been with the first shot (luck), but sometimes I empty my full auto-shotty clip and find the bastard. No wallhacking included... I've gotten some "WTF?"'s after doing so, but usually there are enough smart people playing that they understand and explain to the guy, that "Yes, the Boomer makes noise and yes, you can shoot through some walls".

And I've mostly learned that wallbanging from CoD4, where I kill so many guys through walls.

I've gotten some "WTF?"'s after doing so, but usually there are enough smart people playing that they understand and explain to the guy, that "Yes, the Boomer makes noise and yes, you can shoot through some walls".
Same here. Using the hunting rifle, I've managed to kill numerous boomers in places you wouldn't expect to get ganked. One guy pissed and moaned for several minutes afterward ...

"Pffft. Wtf? I'd like to see that thing shoot through six feet of concrete."

"You just did."

... eventually he sucked it up. I have yet to be accused of wall hackery. All the infected make noises which are clearly audible to survivors with decent positional audio. Also, people are predictable. I often guess where a boomer will be waiting (around a corner on a stairwell, in a hallway outside a door, etc) and I empty a clip through the wall ... sometimes I'm right, often I'm wrong.

And melee isn't exploitable. Valve has provided it as is, with the expectation that we use it. It's ridiculous, true, but it's part of the game.

Right...just like the similar melee weapon/reload exploit in TF2 that lasted for like a month or two, and everyone said "Valve left it in the game...clearly we're meant to use it!"

...and then Valve patched it. L4D's only a month old, Valve will likely patch it. Might as well play fair and start practicing up the normal playstyle.

I can't imagine melee hacking in L4D. You have zombies, you have guns, Why DON'T you shoot?

When I do it in a corner, it's while I reload, and even then, I feel like a fool, flailing away for 5 seconds.

Believe hes referring to the ability to weapon change while meleeing to spam melee much faster than intended.

I've gotten so used to shooting zombies through walls with the AR that I do it in other games now (tho it doesn't actually work and I end up wasting ammo).. that and m2 to melee.. :\

aamof, m2 has been the cause of my death in a few games since playing l4d. :(

I still have been accused of hacking because of this:
I usually go around with my flashlight off, because that way the infected cannot see me through walls, unless I run, shoot or some such. If I walk or crouch with my light off, they cannot see me coming. Then I hear a boomer in a place, where he cannot be shot through a wall, I sneak just to the corner, where I think the boomer is. Then all of the sudden I dash in front of the boomer, bash it back, backtrack and shoot it. :D

And "OMG! Cheater!" cries were heard. :D It's allways great to ambush the infected. And hear them moan, when they get killed in a "cheap" way. :D

Nah, I know you can hear through walls, too bad i didn't record a demo. This guy was blantanly aiming at infected up one floor or down one floor in apartments and such. Possibly and outline glitch...but then he admitted saying zomg i hack, get over it. Oh well...
