How do I add more survivors?

How do I add more survivors in-game? Supposedly there should be only 4 including yourself and others your playing with online, but in this video here: http://www.left4dead411.com/news/2008/11/l4d-serve rs-and-cheats/ (http://www.left4dead411.com/news/2008/11/l4d-servers-and-cheats/) the game has 5 survivors including the player. So how do I add more survivors? What's the command I should input in the console?

sb_add doesnt work, only adds one survivor if you use nb_delete or something similar and if you reach 3 respawned survivors it doesnt work anymore

Well in the Demo I managed to get more than one survivor by using the command to switch to versus and then switching back, it would add an extra NPC for some reason with every switch to the point where it got like Louis (1) or (2) etc... but with the actual game I don't know. Did that person do it with the demo? Was he in No Mercy?

I know, but I want to know too if there is a way to add more survivors in the non-demo game
