That is an interesting point Elaphe. We get to see an infected kid in Dawn of the Dead. Actually it is the very first infected we see in that movie, the one that kills the lady's husband.

However I don't remember ever seeing a movie were there would be zombie children, let alone seeing them getting shot, dismembered, or what not. so are children immune?

In Shaun of the Dead there were zombie kids (at the beginning of the film.) On the dvd there's a gallery with behind the scene's photo's and it features Simon Pegg and a group of zombie children infront of a icecreamtruck but, it probably got removed from the final cut.

Original Dawn of the Dead. Zombie kids in the closet in the airport. They get shot semi off-screen though, no blood.

28 Days later. Zombie kid in hamburger shack. Baseball bat bludgeoning (also off-screen?)

And can't forget that crazy Zom-Baby from Braindead. I think it gets shoved in a blender.

My theory for Left 4 Dead is that the virus is deadly to everyone under 18.

Kids in the game would make it harder. Right now all the zombies are they same height, making it easy for crowd control with the AR. Then a few stupid kids walk under all your bullets and own you.

Dead kids are a cultural taboo and Valve knows that very well. Why do you think that the Combine has that weird "anti-reproduction" field in Half-Life 2? You know, the one that's destroyed when the Citadel explodes at the end of HL2 and so Kleiner is nattering on suggesting that the survivors "get to it" to repopulate the place, to the amusement of some of the rebels?

Any wise video game designer stays as far away from dead kids as possible. On a related topic, look at the fuss caused by those panels of the web comic Concerned where Freeman kills a Combine soldier and his two children find the body (http://www.hlcomic.com/index.php?date=2006-05-17). It was meant as comic satire -- I mean, Combine children? didn't they rip out their nads as part of their "surgery"? -- but it went over like a lead balloon.
