When l4d gets released I wanna add a few weapons and characters to the game and I wondered if l4d will release some tools that enable me to do so. Also if mods like reskins and models are supported online so I could play online with my character. Something like Unreal tournament which I believe lets other players see your model even if they dont have it themselves.

It only talks about maps, Im more interested in how the modding of characters and weapons will work.

Well, if you could create your own character (maybe even yourself) wouldnt that be cool? I certainly think so, for my first one Im gonna make a soldier a la the ones with the gasmask in 28 weeks later.
Also I have never modded HL or any other source game for that matter, the poly count for this game should be different, no?

There probably will not be any drastic changes to the way you mod L4D and the way you mod any valve game made with source. It seems to be implied that TRS is making everything as editable and user friendly as they can without infringing on the gameplay.

You should try making maps, it seems confusing at first but its really actually quite simple :)
www.interlopers.net (http://www.interlopers.net) is a good mapping tutorial site, get into mapping! it feels good to run around a ma you made :P

I would want to add excessive overkill weapons so I could play on the hardest difficulty. All bullets are explosive! Also, petrol bombs have moving fires, and pipe bombs explode multiple times! Then, remove the ability to hurt yourself (but still able to hurt teammates), health regeneration, ammo regeneration, and higher max health, and you have a ton of fun.
