Question about RAM

So i got alot of money at christmas eve, and i thought "Woah ! Finally i can get some decent ram in this hunk of junk !" So i decided to buy 4gigs of Ram for my computer which now have 2gig.

What the question is, if i put in 4gigs of ram into my computer which now runs with Vista 32bit, will it error or something, or will it kinda disable 1gig and run on 3 ?

32 bit vista has a system limit of 3.12 gigs of ram so you should only use 3 or wait until windows seven comes out.

Yeah thats what i thought, so i wont put in both and flames will fill my room or something.

But the good thing is that i have atm x2 1gigs, so i just take one out and put one of the 2 gigs in.
