Expanding Tier 1 weapons:
UMP .45
-Since we already have a 9mm SMG (Uzi) this can be an alternative.
Differences:
+Higher dmg per bullet
+More accurate
+More maximum ammo capacity 540 vs 480 compared to Uzi. Reason for the higher ammo is to balance out for the lower magazine.
-Slightly more recoil
-Lower magazine capacity (roughly 30 rounds per magazine)
-Lower rate of fire (can be a plus, saving ammo and making distance shots, but a minus during hordes or crowd control.)
Tier 1 Rifle -> M1 Carbine (Doesn't have to be an M1 just making an example)
Adds a beginner version of the hunting rifle for more selection besides an SMG or shotgun for starting weapons.
Differences compared to the hunting rifle:
+Higher rate of fire (still semi-automatic, fires as fast as you can click the mouse)
+While the character is moving, accuracy is suffered less and still allows decent accurate shots while on the move.
+Higher ammo and magazine capacity
+Slightly faster reloading
-Lower damage per bullet, does not one hit kill. However 2-3 well placed shots to the chest can kill normal infected, 4-5 shots max for guaranteed kill if shot in arm or legs.
-NO SCOPE
-Still retains its ability to penetrate several infected but cannot penetrate more than 3.
-Accuracy is only slightly worse and not pin point compared to the hunting rifle.
*Suggestion for AI bots
Allow commands to tell bots where to go, either hold postion, defend, and other stuff similar to the squad system in HL2, Star Wars Republic Commando, etc. Might lead to griefing, however these abilities could be restricted to lobby leader.
Grenade suggestion:
M67 - Frag grenade
+Wide blast radius
+causes heavy damage
+Works similar to the HE grenade in CS
+Short fuse allowing to fish out bosses like boomers waiting around the corner quickly, rather sacrificing someone getting vomited on or pounced.
+Can be used to deal damage to tanks due to its short fuse.
-Doesn't attract infected like the pipe bomb.
-No area denial unlike molotov
-Effective for certain spots, while the other two grenades are useful for clearing an area.
I was bored so I came up with a couple ideas to add to L4D.
