question regarding join a l4d game in progress

sorry if this has been answered, i tried searching but couldn't think of how to search for it.

my question in simple. say 30 minutes into a campaign, someone disconnects. will an AI bot take the person's role until the end of the game, or will ppl be able to join the server than spawn at checkpoints/closets mid-campaign... or maybe even join right then and there to reassume the role of the person who left?

also, since the game is based on the source engine, will TR/Valve be updating and improving the games graphics like is done with DOD:S/HL2?

Players/bots can substitute for each other at any time... I think

Yea, AI WILL take over any time someone leaves, and someone can join mid-game I would say spawning as the AI character I hope. Or at least beable to join and come back through a locker or something.

Updates could be possible, i'm gettin 360 version so I'm fine with that.

Oh yeah sure you'll get an update here and there fixing some bugs (little to none anyway) but forget custom maps and mods. You might get more maps from the devs, but get ready to pay for them. Paying for maps is apparently the way of the future.
