So, as the title implies i just passed my driving test! on the 3rd try (the second being cancled due to a nail in the tire!)

Now, when l4d comes out i can either buy on steam or take a drive to the shops!
My lazyness can now reach a new level >:)

gas grass or ass, nobody rides for free !

incidentally, what does your test over there in the US (im presuming your merkin btw) consist of ? is there a written theory bit and a test out on the roads ? or is it like you see in the films and you drive round a closed area between some cones ?

Well done mate! Was soooo pleased when I passed, although the novelty of having your own car and going out whenever you want fades pretty quickly, so enjoy that awesome feeling of freedom whilst it lasts :D

We should have a 'show us your ride' thread, to see what mean machines everyone drives.

Driving tests in the US have both, but at separate times. At 15 and a half, you can go take a theory test on a computer, and if you pass, you get a Learner's Permit, allowing you to drive when a person with a license, age 21 or older, is in the passenger seat. Then at 16 you can go and take the actual driving test, where you get out on the road with the tester, and drive around.

Congrats on yours! Its quite a relief when you get it.

Except this could be completely different in another state.

anyway double congrats then i know they have made it harder recently and they also want to put that age up and restricts the age of your passengers for younger drivers so well done for getting in before all that.

Hmm, reminds me that I should really get my license fixed. Says my hair is blond when it is clearly brown >.<

Well, good work. I suggest getting an older car. My Oldsmobile, despite its age and a few unimportant problems (stupid overhead light won't go out,) it's been fairly reliable and affordable (mostly from an insurance pov.)

I'm currently learning myself and passed my theory test (UK) on Tuesday, which is always a good start. :)

Well done! Hopefully you did not have to pay as much as 3600 US dollars as I did. It did not matter I passed the test firsttime around and theory in 3 mins. without errors. :)

36 Double Hours driving lessons I had... And I took it in Germany a language I never went to school to learn 4...

US is wonderful!!!

What did you spend 3600 dollers on?!
I spent 1118 pounds on lessons, and test was about.. 40-50 pound a go (3 attempts)

3600$ Sandman??? Wow...I mean...WOW!!!! What the fuck?!?! o_O
I had to spend around 1200€ for everything (Berlin, Germany) which is normal here. I heard there are some driving schools that have flatrate programs where you pay like 800€ but unfortunately I didnt knew that when I made my license.
Poor old Sandman :)
