Game crashes between chapters

Seemingly randomly inbetween chapters while playing l4d I've had the program just close itself and take me back to my desktop.. as you can imagine it's a pain in the arse which has stopped me from even being able to fully run through the campaigns.

I've had a look around the internet and these forums and not found anything about it, decided to sign up and see if anyone could help or if it's a known bug?

I'm experiencing the same problems and have tried the l4d forums on steampowered.com Anyone have any suggestions as it is a pain.

Is it always the same map?

Try loading each map by yourself.

Or not, I'm just guessing.
