Yes, this is a real console command. I used the help message, said can break tongue by looking away or clicking, neither does anything. I think the smoker should be able to detach from his victim, and so should the hunter. Bring at least SOME skill into the game.

It's probably an old command that doesn't work anymore. Then again, I don't remember the Smoker ever being able to release his victims.
Bring at least SOME skill into the game.
Well...

Well, even if he couldnt ever release victims, i think it should be brought back in

It worked in the demo for sure, I remember being able to do so. I personally think it's awesome.

Well if he was never able to do it then it could never be brought BACK in.
Besides if the Smoker or Hunter could detach it would completely ruin the whole teamplay idea that this game was made for.

Indeed. 25 damage pounce, detatch, run like a mother, reset and go again.

Imagine a Smoker pulling you over a ledge, then detaching. With a little luck you could have a phew survivors hanging next to each other, easily...

That's how we do.
If the smoker still had a recharge time after detach, it would work, IMO.
Pull off edge, engage GTFO mode, and run like a bitch.

Yeah, that's the only way it could work.

i just tested it, and the command actually works in the full game, you just gotta re-click. and it counts as a hit delay when you detach.

The smoker needs to charge up, for 15 seconds, when he detaches himself, i tested it
if the survivors are THAT dumb to let a smoker survive for 15 seconds, AND pull them off, them they deserve to die imo

Don't think this shouldn't be integrated, because, infected don't have brains, they just want to eat and are full of anger! They couldn't release someone, because it satisfies them to much, that they can hurt the survivors!

Does this require SV cheats? Also will this stay on or does it need to be .ctf'ed and put into program files.

Now tell me any single one experience, where you've seen any of the infected munch on anyone?

yea, it needs sv_cheats, and it's a command, and if you exit l4d, it'll go back to default.

Well, just because they want it, doesn't mean they have to do it ingame! Or you ever saw f.e. Francis drinking beer, or anyone doing a pee lol or whatever!

I hope you kids understand they are not eating them because they cannot be infected...they are merely killing them.

Yes but then pulls that would normally not hurt survivors if release would do massive falling damage to them....
