Hya,
i encountered someone yesterday who never seemed to miss a melee on a hunter. Not even when jumping from behind/above or whatever. I failed to make a demo but here is one from another guy.

Somebody knows more about this? Has it been reported to valve or is it nothing? I couldn't find another thread on this topic but if there is one already just ignore this one.

When I hear a hunter jump arround I apathetically turn in every direction just to make sure its not after me!
Next thing is, that the models don't turn arround as fast as the player can see in 1st-person!
I my eyes, no hack, just a video of an frustrated gamer!
Btw. he wrote that he couldn't land a pounce on this player in the whole game, but it took him a whole campaign to start recording?

Yeah it's only that one occasion, but it was similar in my game. If you watch his other vids you can see that he's a pretty good hunter so i think he can tell bs from bad luck/skilled players. I hope it's just some lucky hits bc/ a melee hack would be bad news.

I agree that video looked very suspicious, that wasn't a bot was it?
if it was I could see it being normal, but not a human player, that shit was automatic.

Well even good gamers can have frustrated moments ;)

that wasn't a bot was it?
Bot's get pounced and generally mistime melee's
I experienced this yesterday when i tried pounce someone from behind and got melee'd twice, i don't think it's a hack i think it's a hitbox problem, where if they time the melee just right it hits out a tiny bit behind them. I could completely be wrong but unless my cmdrate (60) wasn't fast enough to catch them turning they must be spinning on crack.

only reason I wondered if it was a bot is because if you've ever spectated one on BH vs. you'll see that they have xray vision and magnetic aim, meaning they can see you a mile away through trees and their crosshairs stay perfectly aimed on you no matter how you move around.
So I figured they might also have bionic 180 turn melee skills too.

Yeah possibly a bot. I know personally survivor bots are a pain in the ass against most infected on versus, including hunter. Jumping about like a kangaroo in the mating season still gets your ass dead versus those pesky bots

Never saw a bot doing melee!
EDIT:
Except when freeing someone from smoker or hunter! But not as defense!

The guy i was fighting was not a bot. The one in that video is also not a bot, you can't really read the name but it's def. not Zoey.
@stuffinator. Bots melee all the time, also as defense. Watch when they get boomer biled, they'll spam like crazy.

metal is part of my clan and I was on that guys(the survivor) team during this match.
Its hard to see but my name namrog84, is that guy incapped over near the tank and other survivor.
He recorded the entire game. It happens a lot more then the video shows.
I dont recall if he was ever pounced or not but I know metal is the best hunter I know. he has 3 other videos to prove he knows his stuff.

That one video is questionable if he hit the wall above the survivor, or lag or what exactly it is.
But I myself have seen some odd behavior a few times in the game before.
I have seen an aim bot hack before. It is clearly visible when your spectating the person with it. the movements are extremely unnatural and too precise.
all 7 other people in that game is on my friends list, and I will try to spectate the guy who is being accused of cheating more to see if I can find out anything.

that's exactly what it looks like if you spectate a bot, I wonder if the hack is just implementing the bots aiming ability for a human player.

There must be an Auto Aim/Trigger cheat. Not kidding but some guys do the impossible, for example: One day ( long time ago ) there was a guy with the horde surrounding him, I jumped from the roof and then he suddenly melee'd me when I was almost getting him. And he kept doing this to everyone who tired to kill him, very disgusting.
Edit:
Or just saying, he was looking forward and meleeing the Infected and suddenly looked up to me when I was almost pouncing him ( if he hadn't done this for 1s, he was mine D: ) and then turn to me melee me and shoot me. Then he keep doing his business with Infected, it happened to everyone of my team.

Melee spam; it works.

That video could be any number of things. My guess is High Ping. I'm gonna look for melee bots though.
EDIT: I searched some hacking sites and found a couple aimbots, zoomhacks, and Increased View Distance hacks also. Nothing about auto-melee.

He could of just been quick melee'ing though. That shit pretty much rapes hunters HARD! Not Q + Right Click Quick Melee, those precise macro quick melees
Not Q + Right Click Quick Melee, those precise macro quick melees
Like this one (http://www.fpsbanana.com/scripting/4080)...
I don't use that (Q+RMB if I feel like melee spamming), but it's a good example of a auto "hold key / button down" meleescript, and could be the cause of these guys being un-pounce-able.
I had a game just before with a guy nobody could pounce, and all his incredible one-hit melees did seemed REALLY SUSS because he could just melee once and he'd always hit you, so maybe there is a hack out there.
But... maybe it's also just a case of him being pro at deflecting hunters, and survivors not appearing to be looking the way they actually are because of the slow-turn thing.
Who knows.

I've had problems pouncing in windows like that, so it could just be the location.

Unless you have 180 degree spin somehow, you probably couldn't turn that fast so it seems like a hack.
Look at how close the hunter was before the pounce. Even with fast reaction time it'd be damn hard to not only turn around to the perfect angle and land a melee on a hunter pouncing on you from that close, especially inside a fire and during a tank attack.
He obviously wasn't melee spamming, as if you see when the hunter is crouched and ready to pounce, no melee spam whatsoever in reaction to noise, as on the roof by the tank, the hunter pounced which let off a scream.
If this only happened at this point during the game, it would be no big deal.
But since it happened throughout the entire game, there could very well be an auto melee hack.

Bots melee all the time.
Hm lol looks like I don't play so much with bots, or I never pay attention!
But still, this is nothing a human can't do!! It also can be some sort of lag or what ever! I often get hit as a hunter, when the characters model doesn't even look at me!
And well, If you realy think its some sort of hack, then consult valve!

nah? ive pulled off stunts like that before. whenever i hear a hunter screech i turn around with a melee...
hunters only screech when they pounce, and typically when they pounce theyre attacking someone....
he was in a doorway and prob had good headphones on.
ive done that same thing a few times where even i say to myself "wow that guy prob thinks i just botted him"
i wouldnt get too crazy over that one clip.

Metal is probably the best hunter video poster on youtube...
His hunter howto vids have been up since shortly after release; if he can't land a single pounce even by chance throughout a match I have to call BS.
To be honest, I don't play L4D hardly at all over the last few weeks because ever since the melee spam exploit, there is always 1 survivor on a VS team running around with an invisible shield of protection who ruins the entire match. I loaded up the melee spam and ran through to see it; but there is something different that some people are doing because they *never* melee while running or even while you're in-flight towards them from height.... but they melee you from behind as you're about to hit them.
Valve patches hunter pouncing the witch to a new locations, but leaves in melee spam and infected spectator spawns. It's a TOTAL disaster since release.

Last night I got a witch to chase me as hunter.. and someone else on my team during that game did too.
Lately it hasn't worked nearly as often as it used to, though.
Would it be possible for a server to be running an older version which allows it?
o_O Or maybe valve just didn't fix it completely.

For anyone that has used a 360 controller on a PC before for this game you'd know that there is a button that does a quick 180 degree turn. It's the RB button. (on top by the right trigger) Not much stopping someone from linking the melee with this as well to make them very difficult to kill.
When setting up the split screen to play with the g/f I had to change the 360 config so that I could keep using the keyboard and mouse and she could use the controller, I noticed the "fast 180 spin" and mention of auto aim exploit in the config file.
These are the lines I'm speaking of:
"// Prevent mouse/keyboard control when gamepad is in use (to prevent autoaim exploit)"
"cmd2 bind "R_SHOULDER" "+lookspin" // RB - Fast 180 spin"
Sorry I cannot watch the video to really comment properly, but I thought i'd share the info. (bandwidth limit of 7.5 Gb a month and I'm at 7.3!)
I have saw Metal before and he is a damn good hunter, honestly best I've seen so far. (at least until I get to back to school next week and can FINALLY play L4D online again. Been 5 WEEKS!)

/agree, i was among this game as well since namrog and metal are both in my clan(we have control) It was an utter bullshit game of them consistently hitting off 25 dmg leaps (even puked on)
