Anyone up to this challenge? You have to complete the finale, just the finale on Expert, but you have to do it by yourself. No bots around to help you. If you get pounced, smoked, or incapped, that's it. You have to restart. You are allowed to stock up 4 gas/propane tanks and 5 grenades (one on you) in your desired camping spot.

With some closet camping, skill and luck, I've managed to complete it on Advanced, but not yet on Expert. Made it halfway though several times (killed the first Tank, then died shortly after.) =/

Thats pretty good but a major challenge would be going a whole campaign or just a whole map alone using no exploits, no crescendo skips, and final destination.

This is why we need levels to be recorded with accomplishments, when possible. (Though even with cumulative ones like Zombie Genocidist, it might note something like &quot;24% Expert, 10% Advanced, 16% Normal, 50% Easy.&quot;)

i got untouchables after joining a versus match with sora, thor, etc. in the middle of a finale.... we all got hit a bunch but I still got it once we got to da choppa. Was kinda weird, didnt get the feeling of accomplishment i would've if i actually did it lol

I'm sure everyone noticed that the video lagged very badly right after 30 seconds. That was when I started the second fraps recording. Sometimes it screws up and lags extremely badly, as you saw. I brought up the Console to pause the game, stop the recording, and start a new recording.

'F' is my hotkey to start/stop a recording. I decided to bind it something close to my usual keys as I would need to press it constantly. The two letters you saw were 'ff' to stop the previous recording and start a new one.

Also, I re-binded my flashlight key if anyone is wondering. Hope this clears it up. =)

It does? Looked pretty normal to me. I am using an auto-shotgun by the way. I'm just firing it slowly. =)

How about you guys try doing the same stunt IN a closet first and tell me how many times a Hunter rapes you? After that you can comment about trying it without a closet. xP

I would however take up the challenge if I could disable special infected spawns, or if I had someone right behind me to knock them off. ^^

yo, just beat no mercy on expert with the bots, NO people, dude to tell you the truth, it seems SOOOO muc easier with the bots than actual people. people are only good for the finales. i tried doing no mercy on expert with people and it was the hardest shit EVER!!! basically, dudes was missing like HELL with their guns and dudes shooting each other.

the bots are WWAAYYY better than a crap load of the people i've played with. when i played with the bots, i got like two friendly fire shots the entire campaign.

also thanks to cathy for telling me about the tank, and showing us that video, i was able to take down the tank pretty easy. me and all the bots make it to the helicopter, but i was already in the helicopter, and the bots wasnt, so as the bots was coming to the helicopter, a tank got between the helicopter and the bots, so yea, they all died right then and there, while i skated off.

I didnt use the closets because the AI is retarted and seems to really hate closets.

the bots such on finales, but are HELLA usefule during the rest of the maps, but humans are useless during the regular map and very helpful on the finales.

Indeed. The bots are programmed to pretty much be the &quot;perfect teammate&quot;. The only downside is that they can't set up for crescendos or finales, know &quot;where they are&quot; (ie. STANDING RIGHT ON TOP OF A GAS CAN I PLACED DURING A CRESCENDO. Saw a bot chug pills about 10 ft. from a saferoom door)or pick up/use grenades.

I'm not sure if anyones ever mentioned this yet but it would be cool for someone to do a L4D mod where theres no special infected and the difficulty is scaled down to accomodate a single player. It would be pretty cool running through the streets taking down zombies on your onesy, but I'm too chicken to try it on Expert...

This has been done, a full campaign on expert single player by our whole clan just about. Its almost a requirement lol.

I don't really find that impressive... In fact I find it looks too easy. I've done shit like that without hiding in a closet too btw. I once escaped no mercy after all my teamates died comming out of the ladder and I didn't do it hiding in a room with 1 entrance either.

I sincerely apologize for the skipping, but it's hard to constantly hit the record button every 30 seconds especially if you are in a very intense moment. I'd do it again (someday) if you care to link me to a good and free video recording software. Or get me a registered version of fraps. ^^

You should check out WeGame.com, It's free and DivX quality /w Sound, way better then 30 seconds of Fraps recording. lol.

Btw Nice job but I agree with most people, try it without the closet. ;)

I have no way of recording it but I did it by staying close to the edge of the map beleive it or not. There's a few buildings that have a narrow ledge with a high wall to your back that you can navigate, if you keep your ears open for hunters and you're quick enough to evade the smoker it's do-able with a little luck. You just have to be quick.

The trick is finding spots that are difficult for hunters to pounce to, if you know the only spots you just need to keep an eye on them for hunters. I avoided more pounces than I could remember that game but I never got barfed on and I managed to take down the tanks in close quarters fast by simply out maneuvering them and a little luck. (I was litteraly 2 inches from the tank circling him so he couldn't hit me, I just got lucky he didn't land a hit that knocked me off the ledge although he did hit me.) and I actualy did get pounced on while fighting the last tank but the stupid tank knocked the hunter off me.
