Hey there. I have a question about you guys at quakecon. (http://www.halflife2.net/forums/showthread.php?s= &threadid=127853)



Are you guys going to be showing off the PC version or 360? I got confused when some people said Quakecon had only 360 games or something.



Was that play test on G4 at E3 live at E3? Or was it old? And why didn't you say a release date!? It was E3.. so maybe something more specific than just, "When its done", or "2007",



Another is, are we going to get any new media? Could you guys maybe just stop on the L4D411 forums and say hi? Maybe a new picture of the other maps?



Last question. Are we going to get anything big out of quakecon? Or nothing much than some fan media?

Remember HL2: Episode 2 at GCDC Leipzig? I think this will be the same for L4D only media wise. This is a BIG event. I don't think some of you understand the impact of theseTRS going to this event for three days straight. It's the biggest LAN event in North America. We got retards at ShowdownLAN who had no idea what the game is. QuakeCon is like the Olympics for games and these people are very professional at playing. That Wendel guy (fatality) regularly shows up there. ATI will show their new GPU's and Intel will show off their new CPU's in intense scenes like L4D. Don't doubt that TRS will show no media because they will. *Mr. Booth is probably reading this, arn't ya Mike? :-p

Me neither until last year. There was a time in which nothing was out for Episode 2. Then all of a sudden (out of thin air) tons of gameplay movies came out of this game convention like E3 for Germany. It concluded with a very nice Episode 2 trailer, the premier of Portal, and the premier of TF2.

Hi, I just want to ask some questions about Left 4 Dead

1) Are there going to be crosshairs for Left 4 Dead? On some videos have
crosshair while some don't.

Yes, there are crosshairs. In some videos we've shut off the in-game
interface.


2) Do the bullets for the guns have tracers? On certain videos there was on
some there weren't.

Yes, bullets leave tracers. This helps the Survivor team avoid friendly
fire.


3) Does higher difficult mean things will be easier or harder for players
playing the Infected team.

At higher difficulty settings, the Infected are more lethal. This generally
means it's easier for the Infected players to kill the Survivors on harder
difficulty settings. In other words, the "difficulty level" is from the
point of view of the Survivor team.


4) Will all servers have merit system, or can servers choose to not have it,

will it only work with VAC?

All servers will have some form of the merit system, since it's an important
source of information to make sure the team knows what is going on.


5) When searching for servers will we be able to see what difficulty a
server is on?

Yes.


6) Will there be any disadvantages for duel wielding pistols, instead of
having just one.?

Dual pistols means more bullets and faster rate of fire which is always a
good thing when facing down a horde of ravening Infected. If you can,
always pick up an extra pistol.


7) You guys probably never got this question before, but whats the release
date :) ?
