update causes random error which crashes at startup

Really though kinda furstrating when the update wasnt anything very important by any means... now my ish wont open.. gg steam... f4gs.. piss me off

anyways after the newest update 1/14/09 .... i get to the intro screan and then it crashes saying

Engine error
-Couldn't allocate any server IP port, tried 2 addresses...

I wish it would just saying

-we suck dick sorry we dont know how to release good updates....

i dont even have a router.. ive googled it and no one has a fix it seems like .... can any one help me?

ive tried validating my game ... deleting some files... defraging the game (dont no why)... and a few lauch option commands all FAIL

Other people are having issues with this, not just you. I saw two people in chat after the update released with the same problem.
If they were just "updating the servers and stuff", then more people would have a problem. I'm sure they are already addressing it and wouldn't be surprised if we saw a small patch in the next few days fixing rare cases like this.

and its not a bogus update just because it didnt work on YOUR computer. other people are having similar problems, but if it was a faulty update EVERYONE would be having problems... welcome to the forums, enjoy your stay.
