I just re-watched that, like two days ago. It's still looks ok, considering its quite old now and was digitally rendered.

Anyone who hates this film just from the name is wrong to do so because it doesn't feel like a Final Fantasy film at all. The similarities to the usual final fantasy art style from the games, and other animations like Advent Children are very slim and almost non-existent.

And yeah, since its not at all related to FF, I do wonder why they put that.
It's based in the FF universe. Gaia and all that.

The term Gaia has been around a lot longer than that, if thats the only thing related Escaflowne, the greatest anime ever is therefore now related to Final Fantasy... and im sueing both for copyright infringement.

Gaia is just a name, I meant the way they represent it. Which is loosely based on folklore/legend, and therefore it can't infringe copyright. Just like Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.

EDIT: and back on topic. The start of TSW would make a great L4D mod. Just replace the survivors with the members of the team. Maybe add Aki as a 5th survivor.

The ghosts/spirits/whatever could replace the infected and be in a sort of noclip mode, but slower, and spawning in walls before going in a straight line to the nearest player. The flares to make them visible wouldn't be too hard to do, neither would their transparent look with bones, etc. showing and things behind them distorted when visible.
