I said this in another topic, but thought I should ake a thread about it

ok DON"T U ALL THINK THIS WOULD BE A COOL IDEA FOR TRS TO PUT INTO THE GAME?

.....besides the in character voices, for the players talking (you in real life) , I think it would be cool if they made it like the further away u get from ur team, the less u hear of that person, like in real life.... I can imagine playing with friends, and ur friend goes up ahead down a hall and around a corner..

you: "anything up there?.....

friend:(too far away)...no answer
(ground shakes, rumbling
(friend comes running around the corner back at you, voice getting louder and louder till he runs past u the other direction, his voice then fades behind u, and soon after the tank comes after him)

friend: "aaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaa aa!!.."

or like if someone is stupid and strays form the group u can hear them yelling in the distance for help, then u go 'screeeeeeeeeewwwwww youuuuuuuu!"

I think this would perfectly tie into TRS trying to make it more realistic and scary. what with not being able to turn off team killing.etc....would make it A LOT more essential to stay with the group for co-op, which like mike has said is pretty much the whole basis of the game.

Hmmm not a bad idea I was thinking that you were going to say that the voice of your character come out through your mic whne you talk instead of your voice^.^ oh well I think it's too "high-tech" for this century.

6 million dollar man!

I think they should implement that as a server variable, so its optional if people don't want it. I'd want it though. :P

They already do that with gunshots in Half Life 2 so It will most likely be in there.

Yeah sure, good idea... you should go suggest that to them... it's feasible in 6 months...

yes yes, we should send a big email requesting and asking if its possible.

if anything, add it in a later patch, get the game out first no matter what...

This sounds very interesting and fun, but my opinion is that it might cripple the co-op experience. After all communication is one of the most key components of a co-op game.

Everyone is supposed to stay close anyway, so even if it was only as subtle as a slight muffle when speaking from the other side of a door and slightly more for a wall it would be ok. Just so long as the sound fade radius wasn't too small.

Could enhance the witch experience too if she reacted to the sound you made. Like how you could use your microphone in manhunt to make noise instead of knocking on walls, except in reverse so you would have to try and not be heard... that would probably just annoy people though.

Believe me. Their will be a time when your stuck in a group who aren't going to speak even with the game allowing microphones. Plus, with microphones, I doubt anybodies going to be roleplaying. Although.. I'm up for roleplaying survivors over microphone.

You'll thank TRS for the pre-recorded voices.

Did u see what happens when u hear people talking when ur underwater, they could apply alot of stuff to this game if they wanted.

yeah but you got to understand those moments will, and most likely never happen, sorry but it's the truth.

hah i guess you have a point. Kinda foolish of me not to realize something so obvious.. So yea I guess this would be kinda neat as long as the sound radius is quite large.
