i was wondering to myself if itd be possible, eventualy, to have the director randomly alternate between skins, eg: if i had 3 different ''types'' of rifle, aka skins, would it be possible to randomise them so that one game i may find a Kalashnikov, and in another the classic m16?

I don't know how you'd make a Kalash skin for an m16, let alone randomize it, but I'm sure if you introduce entirely new weapons you could do so.

It would require a ton of scripting, but every different skin would have to be the same weapon. Eg If you were to add an AK it would have act exacly the same as an m16. Also, modeling cannot be started until the SDK comes out. Its possible, just not probable.

It would only require a random list of the weapons to spawn and put the chosen weapon as a variable that is read the same way the current m16 is.
Barely any scripting, you just need to list the weapons.
If you wanted more weapons, you could simply add on to the list by reading from a file which wouldn't require much either.

:D Nemisis, i <3 you so much.. ur configs are amazing but anywho.. maybe it would be possible to transfer cs:s weapons over and use those? i feel a good idea coming on..

Hmm, I like it. As said it'd be halla complex to code and implement but I agree it is a bit odd you only see the M16.
Then I gotta go all gun-nut on you and say that even though they may be the same class of firearm they often take different calibre rounds/magazine shapes and capacities. So if you want to go all realistic then interchangeability might be an issue. Possibly.

Interchangeability between ammo types? i agree but if you look at the ammo piles in the game theyre not exactly labled "m16 rounds" it wouldnt be that bad.. you could have it so that you cant piick up the same gun twice, each player would get what they got. itd add an element of randomness to the game.
