I have no idea how to get rid of those annoying tips. You know, you start up a game and right there IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR SCREEN is a window saying "capture the intelligence to win the round" or some crap like that. Maybe if it left by the time I was out of the spawn room it would be ok but in some maps it stays there even after I've gotten to the middle of the map where the battle is and I CAN'T SEE WHERE TO FREAKIN SHOOT.
How do I get rid of this? is there a cfg file I can edit somewhere? or something? Is anybody else even having this problem?

Did you look in the options?
I'm pretty sure it toggles in the options..
Look for "tooltips" or something similar.

yeah, I don't see anything like that in the options. Just checked.

The computer I'm on right now takes 1/2 hour to load a page, but I'm sure I've seen this brought up before.
I'll see what I can dig up when I get home.

Why would you want to remove them they're so helpful.

I thought that was supposed to turn off after a while.

They are, but if you reinstall or refresh the content, it comes back.
I'm sure there's a console command for it, just can't recall what it is..

I'm pretty sure my install is glitched, because they have never turned off, and I've played the game for a very long time now. Googleing was the first thing I tried, but it's very hard to find the right words to describe this situation.

Found the answer from the TF2 forums. \team fortress 2\tf\media\viewed.res
Open that file in notepad and change the numbers after each map to something high. Say 50.
Tips go away after you've played a map a certain amount of times.
thanks for the reminder, greenday. I tried a week ago but posting failed.
