Game keeps crashing since update

I've never had problems with L4D crashing before. None of my other games do. If it matters, my computer runs the game on full settings.

When it does freeze, the audio that it last played repeats, and before the screen goes black with a gray blinking line at the top left, the resolution shrinks. I have to restart my computer, not the game. I haven't finished a game in days =,[

Is this happening to anyone else, and does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Go that topic there, and look at the posted solutions.

The most common fix is to make a autoexec.cfg in your Left 4 Dead cfg folder and paste in mat_queue_mode 0.

If that doesn't work try updating your Graphic Card drivers or rolling back to previous edition that worked.

doesn't sound like the multicore stuttering issue at all.

try new drivers.
