QuakeCon coverage.

"One of the developers at the L4D booth tells us that every fancy new graphical feature included in The Orange Box from Valve will make its way to L4D. As we play this newer build we notice that the lighting looks a bit more realistic. Also, the lights from our flashlights now cast eerie shadows as we shine them around in search of hidden infected and the effect makes the environments look creepier than ever."

Also interesting:

"The Boomer is large, very large. It's covered in pulsating pustules and explodes when shot. However, it can be more than just a kamikaze infected. It has a special vomit power that will make every infected in the area attack whoever is unlucky enough to get vomited on. Not only that, but this power can be charged up. The longer you go without vomiting, the more infected will appear when you eventually do hurl."

Just a simple article, not even any images ... but it's L4D related. So yeah.

Wow, I didn't notice that part about the Boomer.. interesting. I wonder what the min/max is.. like, how many more zombies can you get if you wait? If it's a difference between like 10 and 25 it'd add a lot, but if it's just a difference between a few then meh, neat feature.

Updated the front page, thanks Deek.

No problem. The author actually mentioned 30 infected at one point ...

"A counter on the screen tells you how many infected your special attack will unleash. However, this counter does not include any infected that may already be in an area. This means the number of infected you unleash on your victim can be huge. Let's say your vomit power will unleash 30 infected, if there are already 20 infected roaming the level; they'll attack your victim as well. That means your victim will suddenly have to deal with an onslaught of 50 infected. Good luck surviving that."

He may have simply been conjecturing, hard to tell from the snippet.

Also, I'm not sure if this is common knowledge regarding the Hunter or not:

"We love the Hunter because we know how scary it is to be on the receiving end of its attacks ... this boss is a master of hit and run tactics and is the only infected that has regenerating health. This means you can pounce in, deal some damage, take a few rounds, and jump out to heal. We can't wait to try it out."

Regeneration for the Hunter? I can't decide if I knew that already. =P
