3. Many of my day-to-day tasks and work are on a PC anyway, so it makes it more convenient for me.

I won't be playing it on the 360 for the following reasons:

If you're taking the game to a more serious lavel at a later time (clans, ladders etc). I'd recommend the PC.

If you want to spend a few hours of zombie wasting in the sofa with your bro sometimes I'd go with the console.

Like he said, it depends on what the person is best at. If your real good on 360 you can do well on a PC. If you do well on a PC then you can do well on a 360. I will buy it for both. First the 360 cause I really need to fix my PC, then I'll buy it for the PC. But preferably I will choose the 360, would be nice if they did split screen

i do own a 360 but this game seems way to flooded with enemys to play well on the 360 because of how much harder it is to aim on the 360 than with a mouse. and i got a shit computer but i rather have an easier more intense time then a frustrating, sweaty palm, controller fondling bore fest.

thats a lie, first off its not free at all. although sony hasnt charged u for the service and the vertual houses u all hang out in (bent) the game devolopers have the choice to charge for ur games, so while ppl on xbox live pay £30 for 12months, u may soon have to pay £30 for every game u play online and since it is costing to much for them to develop the games for the PS3 they are going to have to to make a profit.

Linux? Could happen. All I know is that games integrated with GFWL feature DX10, and that 360 doesn't support DX10. Don't know what that concludes to but something disappointing im assuming. As for current cross-platform play, Shadowrun looks like crap.

Online games won't cost money for the PS3, that being said by "online games" I meant KZ2, UT3 and MGS4... other than those I could care less. As of now, it IS free. PSN users get MORE CONTENT for FREE. Therefore... UN-LIE! There also goes the theory that, if your game isn't MMO, its taboo to charge money for it. Once that superstition is broken I will have played my ass of the MGS series, and be on my PC... still caring less about cross-platform play.

yeah, shadowrun is crap. but i think games like L4D would work well with cross platform, because its more team based than most and if u get a few PC players working with a few xbox players against AI it would leave out all the shit about reaction times and ppl talking shit. and my piont about that was simply, i saw someone say "PS3 is just as good online" and i think in the future when u have the choice to combine the 2 biggest online platforms of them all, xbox and PC, i dont think the PS3 could mesure up. and im pretty sure its up to the game developers if they charge or not.

First of all, Xbox has little to no games right now. Gears of War was one of the best games ever, but it had one huge flaw that could have been easily fixed- the lagg. The game does require skill online, but it's impossible to play fairly unless you're playing on LAN (thus nullifying online). This is due to the usage of listen servers, however, Halo 3 uses listen servers as well and the lagg is not an issue at all. The main problem is that the lagg effects just about nothing but your bullet delay. That's where the huge problem is.

You won't see these problems on a PC game because just about every single PC game uses dedicated servers.

for the ppl who are Pro PC i agree they can be the best for games, and im glad u are happy with yours, but not everyone can eford to upgrade to keep up with how fast games improve, i have posed before that i love playing all games, and am a bit pissed off that i got a really good spec PC a few months ago with a large sum of money, and now i already own 2 games i cant run full. i have had an xbox 360 since it came out and although PCs can be beter gaming systems thay are more stressfull and i am not going to worry about wether i have a good enough spec to run the latest game, when i can get it for the box.

If u have a decent connection, it is perfectly fine, obviously everyone knows u don't have a 360, so I understand your mistake....my connection is shit either way so I don't do anything with my internet besides post here, but when I go to friend's houses with good internet it is fine and rarely laggs........if u were talking about the darkness, then I'd agree with u, but that's the dev teams fault and a whole different convo :)

PC hardware always lags behind the software.

There will always be graphical settings that are unattainable to the majority of users when a high-end game is released - such as Crysis maxed out. Unless you're rocking a Cray super computer, it's out of reach. Same thing happened with Doom 3. Even a money-is-no-object-top-shelf system will struggle to run the newest titles maxed out. The hardware simply doesn't exist on a consumer level, or the technology is shaky at best (quad SLI). Most big budget titles are future-proofed in this manner. The full potential of the game will be realized as the hardware catches up, that's just the way it is with PC games.

... that said, I haven't seen Punisher 360 around for months. So whatever.

I suppose ... except for the fact that current gen console "max" falls far short of PC "max", even when one disregards the unattainable ultra high settings. Even PC DX9 medium can pull out a graphical win, depending on the title. This is why I (and others) are willing to shell out for a decent rig and suffer the lockups, freezes, hardware conflicts, system requirements, OS nonsense and blue screens o' death. We're not just technophiles with money to burn. There IS a reason we PC fanboys do the things we do.

half the shit in my pc is a good 2 or more years old and it pawns crysis and anything else i care to throw at it. with no freezes lockups hardware conflicts os nonsense and blue screen o death shit (just thought id add that!) the only reason any one gets anything like that is because they dont know the first thing about building a pc. they just go out and buy the first hard drive/graphics card/motherbored or whatever else it is that has the bigest numbers in the name and go "owwwww ahhh that must be good mmm shiny"

the console thing is just "ignorance is bliss" and personaly i dont think consoles are better at all, i just think with all the stress that comes with PCs playing games on them seems more like work and i have more fun on my Xbox.
Oh, I agree. PC is fantastic, but it comes with it's own set of headaches. You have to be a certain kind of masochist to actually enjoy troubleshooting a random issue. I love consoles as well, hassle free and accessible. Both have their own strengths and weaknesses and tend to be fairly comparable when all is said and done.

On one hand, it's not worth discussing consoles and PCs in terms of sheer performance. How can a console hope to compete against a platform that can upgrade the minute new technology appears? It cannot. On the same token, when discussing ease-of-use, affordability and broad appeal, the PC is hopelessly beaten, never to enjoy the same popularity and playerbase.

... which is why most PC vs console debates boil down to mouse/keyboard versus controller. It really is just preference, and even then it's largely dependent on genre.
