You should get other interests, too. Go and spend time with friends, watch TV, play football or some other sport. Left 4 Dead would be an awesome arcade game. Two quarters to play, and you can go through one level. Finish a level and you can play another one free. The difficulty is always on hard just to steal your quarters, like most arcade games. However, if you beat all levels once, difficulty goes up to max, then you can play till you die.

I wish this was always true. In fact, it's not. Look at Spore. EA told the public a while ago, that Spore's release has been pushed back to Q2 of 2008, because they lost some $25 Million this year. Often a game doesn''t profit alot, if it's a business decision.

When a release date is given, it is almost always a complete guess-timation by the developer. Or sometimes the publisher will pick the date that they want the developer to be done by and announce that despite the developers wishes.

By the simple nature of high quality software development, it is impossible to have even the remotest idea of when a game will be released until you get 3/4ths the way through development.

When a developer gives you a date and sticks to it, that is a BAD sign.

A person can make a living out of playing games, maybe someone doesnt like to go "Out" to hang out with friends and prefer to spend time with them inside the Gaming world. The Only game I wish wasnt pushed back at the Moment is L4D. But I guess when its released later it will be for the better. But they shouldve at least released some sort of Beta since they said it would be released in 07'

just to put my two cents in here.
I'm 14 (15 in a month though, yay/smiley emote!!) and if you were to ask me to describe my life style, I would probably say "videogames". Most of my friends have been people who enjoy videogames as much as I do, and as a result of all this I have never been the most popular person (not shunned, just not popular). Despite this, I'm rather happy, I have places like this forum in which I can discuss videogames and such with people of similar interests and friends to joke around with.
Despite my love for all things gaming I still don't let it rule my life (despite what my parents may say) I find comics that I enjoy, I read a book, I play with my pets, etc.
I guess my whole point is that no matter how boring (or bad for that matter) things may be, there is always something you can find to do (remember, the internet is your friend!).
