why are most people commenting on left 4 dead having bad graphics?

i was checking out some videos on left 4 dead and took a good look at comments and almost everone was moaning about the graphics is it just me because they look awsome?

They don't look that great because I think all the footage we've seen has been a camera filming a screen, which always looks crap, rather than a direct feed.

Ya its not a actual replay of the game just a film of the game. U cant expect players to take out a thumb drive and save the replay into the game before uploading to the net?

Yesterday i was playing ZMaster and a guy said that L4D had HL1 grafics, and worst stuff....

Thoose deserve to die, really, it's really annoying, and in the first gameplay video of Quakecon you get to hear 'Left 4 dead, how simple'

The game is still +6 months away from any expected release date, so the graphics could be increased a bit.

I dont get what is wrong with the graphics it's Half-Life 2 Episode 2 style of graphics!

They think the graphics are bad since it doesn't have the latest COOL ZOMG!11§ lightning effects, bloom and other crap like that. They are more or less UE3 or Cryengine2 -fanbois who prioritize visual effects before physics, general looks and feel of a game.
They are to be ignored. ;)

Not to mention game play, atmosphere, community or anything much more essential to a good game than "1337 grafics!"

you can really see the diff from the first vids and these QC ones. the graphics look really sweet now, and although the 08 release is nasty business it can only get better

L4D has better graphics than any source game so far and will be on par with Ep2 and Portal... TF2 will have the most differed style, but it has volumetric flames dunnit?

That's just because a lot of people expect all games to look as good as games like Crysis now. That's their image of "next-gen".

The graphics may not be JUST like Crysis but its damn good. Like Tek said, its not direct feed, its most likely a video cam.
