*UPDATE* what about this?

So I'm thinking about purchasing this computer and I would like to know how well it would be able run l4d/hl:episode 2 on max or high settings running on a resolution of 1024x768 or 800x600. Yea I have a really crappy computer screen.
Im also not sure how well that proccessor will hold up.
Im not going any higher than $550 for a budget.
And if you have any other suggestions I would like to know them.

Wasnt trying to show-off, i dont know a whole lot bout comps so thought id ask the community. besides $550 is pretty cheap for a gaming rig isn't it?
i wanted to update since the comp I have now runs half-life 2 at like 15fps on low settings.
but anyway thanks for confirming.

I couldn't get the hybrid power to work so you could save more on a different mobo / video card and get a faster processor ...
Personally I wouldn't get a box with 9500GT, but I do play at higher resolution than you do ... I would look at an AMD box too as you will likely get a better bang for your buck.

I don't understand why people fucking do this. Do two minutes of research and find out.

That's just what he did.
Or asking real live people instead of reading a professional description not researching?
Not everyone is fit to work in Tech Support.

The first one would be a problem when playing games like TF2 or L4D which are very processor intensive. I'm using a C2D T8300 2.4GHz, and it bottlenecks my performance in both of those games. The E2200 would definitely fare much worse.
The second one has a good processor and a decent graphics card. Enough to max out TF2, and probably max out L4D with 2xAA. I wouldn't expect anything more out of it though. I would recommend that you get a graphics card upgrade. A 9600 GT or better would be good.
Edit: Oh wait, at 1024x768 it should max out fine.

Yea Ive actually done alot of research on computers since I started looking for a new one, its not 2 minutes its like 1 or more hours of unsure information.
Asking people who actually own the games for computer and know more than I do is a lot easier and more convincing than doing self research. I want to be absolutly sure before blowing out $500.
Thanks for the info guys. Ill consider getting a 9600gt but may just stick with the one from newegg.

I played TF2 on an Integrated x300 Radeon, 2.8 GHz Pentium IV, 512 mb of RAM, and shit like that, on a good 20-60 fps, LOL Medium to high details also.
Got a way better computer now... but you can see how scalable Source games are.
