Im going to send an email to tutrle rock. And i have read forums about this topic but no one has even givin an answer. In all the videos and all the interviews no one as said anything about holding down a button to speak with the whole team. Now this is a must for me, i understand that its a Valve game and thus having VoiP but still i have seen nor heard of anything about it. If anyone can get a Definite yes or no. That would be great.

Source games in general have only one VoIP button you can set, which talks to either your team, or everyone in the server. Depending on whether or not the server has sv_alltalk enabled.

in teh the video they pull up a menu- like octagon, or however many sides it has.
it is i.e. medal of honor: heroes, which i have for psp and does the same thing...
u can choosed from thos 10 or so many things to say out loud and have your character yell them, or the words appear on the side, whichever trs chooses...
from seeing this i have a feeling that there will be text chat but most likely no voice chat.
Off topic: did anyone notice how in the vid the black guy(man we say playing) always meleed the zombies after he killed them? why did he do this? to get them down faster so that other teammates wouldnt waste bullets on dead zombies that are standing? i would guess this

All source games have voice chat, and most of them have the radio system too. (except not on an octogan)
I think the melee after they died was to make sure, or perhaps to move the corpse so it wouldn't block any bullets?

Yes, I saw it. It's just a different representation of the radio system in CS:S, DoD:S, etc. Except they can fit it on an octagon now because most of the voices are automatic.

i was discarding this thought because i remembered that the melee does no damage, remember? it just moves them back

True, but in theory if they were just stunned it would knock them back, and if dead, knock them to the floor.

Did you guys forget that you can kill an infected with melee? I think its when you hit them from the back. I could be wrong, I just remember hearing about htat

Ever played BF2? I hope the talk system is like that: The circly menu, then talk team/talk all. Am I correct in thinking the octagon is a placeholder for an improved graphics version?

I'm quite sure you are. The octogon looks like a test menu for making sure it's reacting to mouse movement correctly.
Like... what? A pentagram?
No, a huge pizza!

There will be three octagons, methinks. It can be read in the 411 preview part 1.

It is my understanding that VOIP will be handled via Steam Community.
