I am upgrading from Athlon X2 2.4 ghz to Phenom X4 2.6 ghz, i have researched and it will be fine in my computer. Does anyone notice a difference while playing l4d? I know loading times should be faster tho.

Actually load times shouldn't really be faster because of that kind of processor upgrade. Load times are more related to HD speed of transfer.

the load times are also controled by your video cards vram also but the Phenom x4 is a good budget CPU but i would get the Phenom 2 x4 its a little more money but they are about the same as a core I7.

yes, but thats also directly related to how fast you can pull the info from the hd to the vram. :P

if loading times are the other thing you are looking for with this upgrade, its not worth it. if your current system runs l4d great, it just loads slightly slower than you want, you are looking to upgrade the wrong component.
