View Full Version : Headset stopped working

Running Windows XP and I recently purchased a Plantronics USB headset and mic. Plugged it in and it worked like a charm.

Earlier today, I switched back to my 5.1 speakers to listen to some music (turned thespeakers on and switched to 5.1 setup in the Control Panel).

I then changed the setting back to headset in the Control Panel and now nothing works.

I checked all the volumes, L4D settings, Control Panel settings, etc. but the headphones/mic won't work. When I turn my speakers on, they work but I get nothing out of the headset and the mic won't work.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
AW

I had that problem a while ago, I just messed with settings for a while and they worked, and also to check the steam menu options and switch it to headset.

There's probably a reset/default settings button somewhere.

I did make sure the settings in L4D worked. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Well, that seemed to do the trick! I clicked on all the default settings in sound and now it's up and running.

Thank you very much.

Playing L4D without a headset sucks.
