Underwhelmed, I'm afraid.
Visuals are great, but the combat is stiff and the game is quite frankly not what I expected.

Yeah, the standoff shoot-outs are pretty cool ! May get this one on the PC too, same as Bioshock. Which I thought looked awesome, so atmospheric, and if the water effects are better on PC with DX10 and its 12 quid cheaper then I know which version I`m going for.

Played through a lot of the 360 demo last night, but will wait to play the rest on my PC. I feel so restricted playing FPS's with thumb control joysticks. :P

Anyhow, as far as the game goes, I love the story elements. Love the environments and atmosphere. I really like that you have traditional weapons in one hand, and crazy magic like stuff on the other. Love the tape recorders left behind that you could listen to while still going through the level (nothing new I know, but I still love it)

So far so good, but I tell you what I miss, compared to System Shock 2. I miss the rpg elements. No inventory. You can't pick up a candy bar and keep it for later. You have to either eat it now, or leave it, which sucks. Did they choose not to have an inventory for the sake of it being on a console? Your character doesn't have stats, can't build experience, etc. I really loved that about SS2 and really expected to see it here too.

But expectations aside, I think it'll still be a great FPS. Placed my pre-order today.

Don't know if you guys are aware of this, but Bioshock is a much deeper game than you can tell from the demo. The demo is more of a graphics/atmosphere teaser with the slightest taste of the combat engine thrown in. I'd suggest checking out the IGN review (Since it's the only one out there right now, I think) because they go into pretty good detail about the things you don't get to play.

Ign review (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/813/813214p1.html)

Glad to say I've already pre ordered the special edition. CMON TUESDAY ARRRG!

Also, if you've got the time, it's worth looking up System Shock 2 and ' aquiring it ' somehow, because that's still an incredibly awesome game and will scare the shit out of you even now. Having played that, I would walk into any store and buy its "Spiritual Successor" simply on faith.

that is a pretty stupid thing to say. . .you didnt like a first person shooter with a great phisics engine and some of the best graphics there is and you liked Stanglehold that has the graphics of a Ps2 game and has bullet time? thats a Third person shooter so i put it to you that your infact a 3rd person shooter fan. . . .

Eh, BioShock. From what I've seen, a great graphics FPS that I will admit seems to need a different combat...not style, but it feels there is something missing. I don't know, I suppose I will rent it after it's been out a while and if it's amazing, I'll buy it. Too bad my PC isn't good enough to play it. I built my computer right before all the DX 10 hype came out. Ram prices dropped right after I built it too lol.

Stranglehold sets games back a long way, i thought we were past this shit type of gameplay where you walk into a room and wait for enemys to run in shoot them and move on. . . . wtf ppl? Bioshock is truly original and unike. . i hope you at least apresiate that, the story is awesome, even if its not your cup of tea its clearly griping and exiting and FREE ROMEING, the shooting is awesome, and like i have said manny times the graphics are really great.

even if you hate Bioshock and Love stranglehold. . . dont even think about compairing them, because 1 is a FPS that has been very well pollished and worked on for years and some real next gen graphics..

and the other is a 3rd person max payne ripp off and lets face it ppl, max payne wasnt that good ether.

You're joking right? Max Payne was amazing... and BioShock isn't revolutionary either... Hmm, let's give the player a city, a couple of abilties, and something to do... WAZAAAAA

You probably dont know much about Stranglehold.. Anyway... BioShock. Isn't. That. Great.

I'd probably be on the same page if they kept it the same as it was back in developement, same thing happened to STALKER, it was awesome in developement, but then by release it wasnt all it was chalked up to be.

You pretty much just said that every FPS is 'shit type' gameplay.. seriously, I dont throw the term around as much as some people do... but fanboy much?

It's quite ignorant to judge a game by screenshots alone, by now you'd assume MOST educated people would realize that MANY games look better in motion than they do in screenshots, Stranglehold appears to be one of those games, it looks horrendous in screenshots but all gameplay videos look awesome, except for the main character himself, who seems to have had a bad experience in a tanning booth.

I dont think the UE3 engine is capable of dishing out 'PS2/shit graphics'... literally, if you tried to make a game with worse graphics the engine would explode.

That was really dumb, because you're basically arguing that "it would be original if it had more abilities(70 different plasmids, by the way), the play had nothing to do, and didn't take place in a city".

Max Payne was alright, on a first time through, without playing other games like it. It gets so old after the 25000th time LOLEPICDIVINGSLOWMOTION and shooting someone.

That was really dumb, I don't see where I questioned its originality in that phrase.

And atleast you played it the 25000 times, pretty much means it works. For the state of games back then, MP was amazing... For the state of games now, BioShock isn't... in the interviews they pretty much said plasmids are just spells, except BioShock-ified. And since Oblivion has more, than the whole 70+ Plasmids trump doesn't really work quite well.

sigh, maybe all the games you play have the type off game play where you stand in the middle of a room and watch enemys spawn, but i think you will find that good FPS games dont have that problem!

Bioshock is carefull gameplay and takes skill

Stanglehold is take as manny bullets as you want mindless shoot everything type game.

shit!

the Bullet time, the run down rails, the shoot stuff over ppls head, the jump on the cart,
the shoot a bullet and follow it untill it hits someone. . . . . that all gets old after you do it twice!

and the gamepley is exactly as i described it, the first squre you go in, about 7 guys run out of random holes in the wall. . . and when u have killed them. . . another lot comes out. . . and then you run up a rail, round a corner and do it again. . .

yeah, cant wait for that bundel of joy

i would very much like everyone to kno what Bioshock is about. . . this is a few quotes from the end of the demo. . . .

let me spel it out for ya, u and who ever else gets Stranglehold will do all the rooms in the exact same way. . . becasue everything is set out for you to do so, the enemys stand just under the stuff that can fall and theres only a few interactable objects. . .

bioshock is one of the few games that will adapt to the player, i will do it totaly diff to somone else because there is nothing but choices, its not a straight line of a game. the AI in bioshock is freakin awesome, they interact with everything, just as you can. if that doesnt apeal to you i wouldnt even concider you to be a gamer. the AI in Stranglehold is as simple as. . . "see. . run. . shoot.

Bethesda called, they want their game back.
So true. I'm sure this game will be fun. As for the whole Stranglehold vs. BioShock, it depends on a couple things.

1. What type of gameplay you like
and
2. How much you want to spend.

Lets face it, BioShock has really good graphics, so yer shelling out $300+ for the 360 or more for a new computer. Frankly, after playing Oblivion, and knowing 2K was involved in both, every time I hear BioShock, all I hear is someone screaming the words "Oblivion". I will not enjoy BioShock as much as I did Oblivion, because I like the RPG Oblivion more than the half FPS BioShock. BioShock feels like it is trying to be an FPS but it seems like by trying to do the whole plasmid thing they diverged too much from the FPS genre. Still, the whole plasmid thing screams Oblivion, and for a game claiming to be incredibly fresh and original, that's a bad thing. Don't get me wrong, it looks fun, and if I buy it I know I'll love it. But I just disagree with all of your points Punisher, and agree with all of don'ts. Who knows, as people have said, the demo is a demo, not the game, and we can't be sure how this will play out until someone beats it. Ah, StrangleShock, or maybe BioHold. Or that could be the sequel. But BioShock=Oblivion ? Maybe, maybe not.

PC GAMER. They know their games. Heres a bit of the review.

This is the really bewildering thing about it: it succeeds so stunningly on three different fronts. Not esoteric ones, either, these are the big challenges developers have been struggling to master for decades: narrative, emergence, a sense of place. If another game did just one of these as well as BioShock, it would immediately qualify as a classic. When a game comes along that does all three, we can only be baffled and thankful.

I spend my career, and my gaming life, waiting for a moment when a game just astonishes me, when I can't believe what I'm seeing, what I'm doing. BioShock has five.

Sounds like a good game to me.

Lol Frog. You know what I mean. Whoever said something bad about PC Gamer is wrong. Best reviewers on the web. Only ones I trust too. And Punisher, about the plasmids not feeling FPS-ey, it's just that after playing Oblivion (Which is better than StrangleShock :D) I just get the RPG feel, and not that that's bad, it's just that it's hard to pull off an FPS that dabbles in the RPG, but if done well (Oblivion, Hellgate London), it can be great. I just hope BioShock gets it right, because it can be done badly too. And yes, I would like an ice gun. :D

I remember the good ol' days when they rated games based off quality, and not whether you like it or not... the guy can't even spell 'installments' correctly... don't tell me thats some UK thing, I've had enough with that 'tyre' bullshit.

Funny someone mentioned the gunplay earlier in this thread, I just tried the demo and I found it to be the absolute WEAKEST part of the game so far... It will probably get better when you can customize your weapons and shit, but the Tommy-gun-esque weapon is damn annoying... It 'feels' really off..

You can't buy a brand new computer for $300 dollars, im thinking you're missing another zero there...

I think the bioshock stranglehold debate is basically mindless awesome guns vs creativity and atmosphere. I played both demos and liked both of them, but for me bioshock is a godsend. I really like creativity in my games and am also a huge fps fan. This is very hard for me to find. I loved hl2 but since then there haven't been that many creative fps's. Don't get me wrong shooting a guy in the balls in slow motion in stranglehold is way more fun then shooting a guy in bioshock but bioshock provides way more choices and forces you to think about how you are going to tackle any situation. I generally stop playing games once I've mastered them, not bothering with the second half of the game, but i don't think i'll ever be able to master all the different gameplay aspects of bioshock. However when I'm tired and just want to shoot things stranglehold is perfect.

I found out about Bioshock the same day I found out about l4d a long time ago, but I followed Bioshock closer because they released all this awesome stuff and gameplay footage while l4d just had that one teaser trailer. So I followed Bioshock and I have to admit I was getting pretty excited, and then l4d exploded and so now I have refocused my gaze.

But Bioshock is going to revolutionize and rejuvinate the FPS realm, because when people see the depth and story line for themselves, they are going to wonder why their favorite games did not contain this and will expect it in the future. So in short Bioshock is going to make other game companies spend a few more sleepless nights trying to get somewhere remotly close to Bioshock.

that is a pretty stupid thing to say. . .you didnt like a first person shooter with a great phisics engine and some of the best graphics there is and you liked Stanglehold that has the graphics of a Ps2 game and has bullet time?

thats tottaly not true, its graphics are far past ps2 and has better graphics than some ps3 games out right now. The only thing I dont like about it is how the shooting is.

nd like i have said manny times the graphics are really great.

Why are we comparing two completely different games when we haven't even played the full game of either? I played both demos and loved them. Stranglehold does not have PS2 graphics and is not a rip off of Max Payne, its about twice as much intense and 4 times as much cooler. Max Payne itself was influenced by John Woo's movies. And Bioshock is a master piece. It has an intricate story, one that I'm eager to continue.

08-18-2007, 10:07 AM
yeah i've played both also and stranglehold is like a wii game IMO.....u don't really need/care for a story line or graphics, it's just balls out fun. anyone can pick it up and play it and have some fun. But bioshock is fun plus the some of the best situations/graphics/environments ever in a game....plus the guy that talks to you on the radio has a cool accent like the guy from lost.....I just love the environment with the 50's advertising posters everywhere, etc. like this... http://cache.kotaku.com/assets/resources/2007/04/steinman.jpg (http://cache.kotaku.com/assets/resources/2007/04/steinman.jpg)
my grandparents are HUGE antique collectors so they have tons of posters and things like this. cracks me up too.

lol btw I wanted to play the bioshock demo on hard yesterday, so I went to settings and put the default at hard, but when i went into the game I forgot that if u went off of it then u couldn't go back, and I couldn't help but hold the stick down to hear the piano noises :)

Who Atlas? His little picture looks really weird... weird shaped head... It's also kinda weird that he just happened to leave a picture of himself on the radio thing, and I guess everyone else that uses that radio in the game.

I played through a bit of the demo, then I had to go eat. The beginning is weird, it's nice but weird... when he's trapped in the circle of fire, I was just like... SWIM UNDER NOOB. And then during the bridge/tubey thing where half the plane crashes through, me n' my friend were like HOLY FUCK RUN YOUR GONNA DROWN BITCH.

Also, anothing thing with the beginning... Giant squid and whales are ftw.

Again, dumb comparison. Totally different games and genres.

Besides, being innovative/revolutionary is overrated. See:wii

i kno alot of ppl here wont really agree with this coz its kinda differant to most shooters, but because of so manny 10/10 reviews BioShock is a contender for the greatest game in the world. . . and thats not me just saying it, its actualy an exsisting contest, held at the moment by The Legend of Zelda Ocorina of Time. and i kno alot of you wouldnt consider that to be your #1 game of all time but it has had the top spot for a long time, maybe this will get close or even beat it.

Probably not. This isn't the first game thats come out with all these 10/10's... A long ass time ago, just for the sake of doing so I did some quick googling on the game that was best rated, and one of them im not sure what it was anymore (im thinking one of the MG games though, donno just pops up first in my head) got 10/10 from so many reviewers, and I had never even heard of it before that time. Not saying that'll happen to BioShock, but there are so many more factors than the ratings alone... Especially against a bigass name like Zela.

Again, dumb comparison. Totally different games and genres.

With how the gameplay is, not really. And no... not again. I don't see how quantity is a dumb comparison, even when I didn't bring it up in the first place.

im not saying it will get the title, i said all the great reviews makes it a contender

i do however hope the game developers get rewarded for coming up with a truly original and epic peace of art, as i feel the same about L4D, they should be praised for trying somthing new, and finaly making a game dependant on coop, they should all get a nobel prize

Hmm, same engine as Oblivion dont? I doubt it, and hell, my brand new gaming computer (Cost $300) Can't run it on high, but I figure it could if I got 2gb of RAM instead of 1. I hope my computer can run it, but the way I see it, now that I am getting a 360, I can have the best of both worlds!

Just read up a bit, it's on a modified UE3, so is Stranglehold, or perhaps that runs on stock engine. Anyway, pretty much they have the same graphical quality.

Also, Stranglehold vs. BioShock stuff came into play until some dude said so. One guy was just saying he wanted Strangehold and suddenly another guy disses pretty much every action FPS ever created. And pretty much the engine which runs, UT3, Stanglehold, Gears of War, Area 51 AND BioShock.

Still holding out for Monday, when the thingum should be released.

I was just reading the IGN Review like someone recommended, and wait.. whats this?

If you're debating which version to get, the PC version handles better. In part it's because of the greater precision with the mouse and keyboard, but also with how the plasmids and weapons are selected. With the default settings RMB switches between the two, LMB fires, and we preferred the mouse wheel to an the Xbox 360 version's bumper clicks for quickly cycling through. By hitting Shift you can bring up a plasmid and weapon selection screen if you so desire, but the mouse wheel scrolled through fast enough to stay useful. Note that you can't set LMB to fire a weapon and RMB to fire a plasmid; there's only one fire function. We also noticed the option to bind the functions "switch and fire weapon" and "switch and fire plasmid," but when we tested it out these only switched from weapon to plasmid and back again, much like the RMB default function. All weapons and plasmids are also bound to the number and function keys, making it even easier to ensure you always have the ideal attack at the ready.

To be honest, I was looking for technical specifcations... just to see how well the game handles, but I don't think that kind of information has ever been on IGN. And I don't think Gamespot has their reviews up :(

SystemShock 3 and Fallout 3 are underway :)

This happened to me too. Then I decided to play it again as intelligently as possible. And it was amazing. I hacked the camera and it sent bots against my enemies, i never fired a gun, only using plasmids, i hacked a turret the took some things out for me set things on fire and then electrocuted them when they ran to water. It was awesome. This game is not meant to be played stupidly like stranglehold is. If you play it right bioshock is fifty times better. Unless you don't want to have to think in your videogames. If so then you should not say that bioshock sucks only that you're either not smart enough or too lazy to play it.

Ken Levine posted this to the 2K forums. I found his words wise, and decided to repost for you all:

If you're going to buy the game this week, I highly recommend you stay away from any forums that might have spoilers until you play the game through. Our goal in making the game was to thrill and, often, surprise you.

Please don't ruin other people's experience by revealing secrets in unmarked threads, and if you want to enjoy the game to its fullest, stay away from any threads that might ruin the fun for you. With a game like BioShock, it will really make a difference.

Best,

everything runs sweet on mine maxed out ...

im enjoying the demo immensely although....

1) im not too sure about the 'zero g blood effect' that you get when you clout someone with the wrench.

2) the choice of a prattling Irishman as your guide or 'goid' as he would say... why is it so trendy to be Irish these days ? still at least its not fucking graham Norton

3) no change of walking speeds ive found so far its walk/jog or stand still... no sprint no walk toggles nowt...

4) 'use xbox360 controller' option on the main menu ??? why in buggery would you castrate your pc by using analogue sticks for an FPS ?

5) mouse scaling needs more adjustability the difference between settings is too much of a jump but you can get round this.

its very well done the period feel to everything is superb, voices are good too and the models are great ive just gone and pre-ordered it (uk release date is friday) on the strength of the demo which is what theyre for after all.

anyone know if there is going to be a multiplayer in it ? surely there must be.

This is the error:

BigFinger, did u really ask if its trendy to be irish. . . . . ?
because when they began to make Bioshock i dont think they sat around the table and said. "what do kids think are cool this month". . . and even if u dont like irish ppl he could be only in at the start of the game.

the demo is just an example of how atmosferic the game will be and a small taste of what you can do. in the real game there will be alot more free rome exploring going on and choices that efect the storyline vastly.

Atlas will be there throughout the game.

**** END SPOILER *****

Punisher stop being a fanboy already, we all know its not the best game ever already. Seriously, you act as though this is the first game ever to have what BioShock has, and the first game you've ever played. It may seem new an exciting to you, but its not really. People have already expressed their concerns about the game, and you were there every step to pretty much disuade them, kind of gets old. The only little pickle is when you claim it to be 'the best game ever' and 'revolutionary' because its hardly either.

Im not trying to say anything agaisnt the game, but seriously... stop trying so hard to defend it already. We get it.

Btw. He might have it so early because the game came out today? Maybe... or he went to the future, bought it, then installed it the day it was out regardless of going to the future and all.

And fuck you, I didnt bring that up.. your the one to blinded by fanboyism to see that it never had PS2 graphics. THEY'RE RUNNING ON THE SAME NAMED ENGINE FFS. Calling one crap is calling the other crap. In fact, you're the too blinded by the fact that BioShock is so great, you practically brought up that arguement. All someone implied was that they enjoyed Strangehold more, IMPLIED... Then you have to come up with all the bullshit about it has crap graphics, and again, they're on the same engine practically. Then you go on to say that it set FPS back? Wtf, are you totally stupid, people enjoy these games... there is no set back, its not like they spawn right infront of you and shoot, they have AI... In fact its a step forward from HL2 where the enemies just spawn a corner behind the blue barrier. Calling Strangleholds gameplay crap is calling FEAR and pretty much every action FPS' gameplay crap.

what,? you wanted all the powers and wepons in the demo, thats a bit much to ask for,

I'm patronizing? If the DEMONSTRATION DOESN'T attract consumers, then it is flawed.

As for the release date, its not like it wasn't mentioned 20 times in this topic alone before, even I, the not fanboy fan knew that.

For those of you playing the PC version, assuming your rig has the muscle to handle it, do yourself a MASSIVE favor and DON'T FORGET to enable both anisotropic filtering and antialiasing.

It's important to realize that there is no option for either under Graphics Settings in Bioshock. You actually have to force these settings in your Nvidia Control Panel (or the ATI equivalent). I'm only able to squeeze in 4x antialiasing before I notice significant slowdown during the opening sequence, but the visual improvement is VAST. I'm also able to crank AF up to 16x with no performance impact ... but I'm unsure yet as to whether there is a massive improvement.

EDIT: There are those who believe that the U3 engine does not allow one to force AA and AF settings. Maybe this was the case before, but it's absolutely possible in Bioshock (at least AA for certain).

Quoted..

Revolutionary is a TERM, not an opinion. Shame on me for arguing the point when you don't even know the terminology.

ROFL HYPOCRIT MUCH? You judged Strangehold from the demo as well, and thats ASSUMING you actually played it. And didnt just bring up its shit PS2 graphics from some SS you googled in like 5 seconds. Fact is, Strangehold cant have PS2 graphics, if it does BioShocks graphics are comparable to the original Xbox. Im not denying its a good game, that'd be feable. You just need to understand the term 'revolutionary' and the fact that Stranglehold and BioShock run on the same base engine. And finally, that there is nothing wrong with Strangleholds gameplay, if there is there is something wrong with every shooter by far. Strangehold are barebones is just a shooter, you take cover, shoot, maybe use nades, couple tactics. That alone is half the FPS and TPS out there. Then you add the moves he can do, and thats like 3 games right there. (MP, Matrix... whichever game was the good one, not the MMO, and SH itself)

And there you go, I just admitted that BioShock has the better graphics, nothing I was trying to argue before. (Xbox>PS2, BioShock>Strangehold)

/Give up with idiocy. Will reply if ever, he posts something atleast above 5th grade writing level. I can see now trying to have an intelligent conversation is futile. Facts vs. Opinion, opinion is the clear winner.

Fact is 'revolutionary' is still a term. Both games run on the same, albeit modded engine (UE3) So Stranglehold cant look as bad as you orginially said. Stranglehold doesnt have shit gameplay, otherwise the action T/FPS genre wouldn't exist, because essentially... it's just that. BioShock doesn't have that great AI either. You still judged both games on their demos, and from that decided that Stranglehold was crap, and BioShock is too awesome to be judged on a demo alone. Demo doesnt attract customers, it fails. People who dont like the game aren't missing out on anything. Opinions are what belong in this thread I agree, but you shouldn't try to disuade someone from that, I had reason to go against the 'revolutionism' of BioShock because its true... I really could care less if you like the game more than I do. As for you being dislexic, im pretty sure dislexia doesn't make up entire sentences, and words I didn't even type.

SOOOOOO my buddy goes at around 1 pm today to blockbuster to rent Bioshock for 360, there were 8 copies there but only 1 left. So he proceeds, enthused, to the cash desk and 2 seconds later a man literally RUNS into the store and heads straight for Bioshock. Upon seeing he was too late he actually yells DAMMIT in the store and rushes to the desk. He asks the employee, "DO YOU HAVE ANY MORE BIOSHOCK LEFT!?" And as my friend heard him say that, he walks to the desk and says, "Yea I'd like to rent this copy of Bioshock please." The other man turns to my friend and glares into his soul as if to destroy him unmercifully. My buddy then proceeds to wink at the man. After exiting Blockbuster with the last copy of Bioshock, my friend runs like a gazelle all the way home, so not to let the other man see that he is on foot and easy to catch. hahahah so thats my little story from my friend, I laughed pretty hard at that. Sorry for not writing paragraphs im a lazy writer right now.

I played the demo finally. It was really cool, but its coolness was bogged down by me only meeting minimum requirments. It ran, but at 30 fps at most, and usually around 20 probably. Did anyone know you can do ironsights by pressing Z? it's the zoom button, but it lets you do ironsights even if you don't zoom in much. This isn't a realistic game, but ironsights are still cool with it.

I give the demo a 8.5/10. I can see that bioshock uses its creative combat system well, but at a 20fps rate, I have to stick with Metroid Prime 3: Corruption on Wii which is also an awesome action adventure singleplayer game like Bioshock. If you don't have a high-end computer, get a wii and Metroid Prime 3:Corruption, it's awesome.

As for Bioshock, I wasn't impressed that much. I know it was choppy when I played, but I still saw the graphics and fired the guns. Despite the creativity, it was less than I expected. I expected 10/10 for this demo. Of course, Bioshock is the kind of game you'd have to play for hours to get into with so much to find and such a rich story.

Also, great Bioshock story.

I dont like how it floats just right above your face... kinda stupid, like in Dead Rising when you look at your watch... and its right infront of your face >.< There really isnt a point of having a weapon that'll completely block your vision, otherwise we'd have guns that cover your entire face.

In CellFactor, which has the best telekinetic stuff in any game so far, you just select whatever, it floats behind or beside you and just launches from there... Im sure for the sake of having really small ass spaces it was necessary, but the partially invisible objects thing is weird.

Samus' suit doesn't come off if she dies in metroid prime 1 or 2, probably not in 3 either, but you know her reputation for losing her suit if you beat the game fast enough or with a high percentage of things scanned or collected...

Thought I`d add to the thread.......
Been playing since Thursday night, and I`ve spent an hour in Arcadia so far. Rescued one little sister, about to rescue the second.
I`m playing on hard, I thought at one point I may have to restart on normal as hard is HARD ( funnlly enough :P) But now I`ve got a few more weapons and upgraded my machine gun its getting better.

I played it on easy round my friends house so his son could get the telekenisis to play around with. The difference is huge! I was carrying 9 health packs and 9 eve hypos and had more ammo than I knew what to do with.
Hard is definately more fun as it makes you think about ways of despatching your enemies to conserve ammo.

Great game! Need another fix................

Definitely. I've been forced to buy ammo/hypos and medkits from vending machines several times already, and I'm barely a few hours in. It's pretty intense when you're always scraping the bottom for health and ammo.

I am half-way through the game. I am playing on Hard, with no Arrow to guide me, and I am saving all little sisters. Played for 13 hours and I am half-way through.

The first part of the game, until you get your first weapon upgrade was VERY difficult, but now I usually have all of my resources maxed out and the game is turning out very easy for me...

My favorite plasmid is the Insect Swarm plasmid. I carry the rest just to go through places you can't with out them. I always get the health upgrades, and concentrate more on the passive tonics. I never got any EVE upgrades because I rarely use plasmids.

I`ll second that - for now! Maybe Crysis will beat even this.
To testify to how good it is, I`ve drained my entire battery on my Logitech laser mouse.
Sitting here waitng for it to recharge so I can carry on!

I`m in the Atrium area now - and I`ve just got the crossbow!

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

dude I'm at the point where u have to kill some people, then take a of them dead in order to make that daranged artist guy's "master piece" and I've killed 3 big daddies in the same room (where u place the pictures and get the bow/halls surrounding there)....it's so crazy having 2 bouncers coming after you, along with the bunny masked people the artist guy sends....I only died AT LEAST 12 times b4 killing them all along with the bouncers, but now I have adam a-plenty!!

p.s.-I love owning people in the face with the bow :)

p.s.s....best strategy
1. freeze splicer jumping at you
2. QUICK! take out ur camera and get a grade A pic!
3. SMASH EM 2 bits with ur good 'ol rench
4.DANCE!!...after getting an achievment for good pics

it's completley random with the big daddies/little sisters...if u go back to past levels (through the submarines) there will be random daddies roaming around randomly finding sisters to get adam...I followed one, he'd knock on a wall near a hole, then a little sister might come out, one might not...

If anybody posts anything having to do with spoilers/storyline without clearly marking it in bold letters not only will they be known forever as a GIGANTIC DOUCHEBAG LIKE DARKSORA they'll also be banned from the forum.

I made a note of asterixing out the quote I made from darksora to avoid repeating the spoilers.
I take it you removed my post due to my profanities. Apologies, but I was most pissed off!

*edit*
Is darksora banned then? Not got anything against the guy apart from ruining the end of Bioshock for me. Hope he learns a lesson here if he has been given another chance.

With that attitude, you're now banned for a week or so. Ruining shit for other people means you're a douchebag.

Weak, dude. Your intentional spoiler was top shelf asshole material, nothing to lulz about. The least you can do is show a little remorse and apologize.

Absolutely. I'm happy to see squerl crack some heads. It's been a little fast and loose around here, lately.

Not to be devils advocate vs. 3 people and the banhammer.

minar spoilarz

But its a game. If your atleast half way through it becomes fairly obvious after the point where your informed of the jackals and wolves. *hint hint*

P.S I dont mind darks banned, so dont go saying we're gay homos.

Mmmm, perhaps you should stop and ask yourself why. I guess you`re one of these people that will just never learn and carry on been a douchebag all your life.

But its a game.
yes, its a game. But its also a game with story and atmosphere. Its almost like a good book or film. If you bought , say, `The Sixth Sense` to watch and you`d never seen it before and I was to tell you that the character Bruce Willis played was a ***** then you`d be pissed.
I blanked that in case anyone here hasnt seen Sixth Sense , but if you have then you`ll know what I`m getting at.

Any game that relies heavily on a storyline can be spoiled . They are no different to a book or film. Plots change and develop and if you know a twist before it happens then it loses the shock value when it happens. Of course some twists you can see coming a mile off , but some you cant.

so dont go saying we're gay homos
You`re gay homos! :)
Thought i`d get there first!
