Thats cheap, but it will get the job done...........Search Newegg for better deals, though. I just clicked on the first thing I saw.....

Please be more specific on what card type it will take. PCI, AGP, PCI-E ect...

If you can't find out there is usually a serial number underneath your CD-Rom you can post so we can find out your model.

1. xfx, evga, bfg for warranties overclocked my 7800gt and when the shit hit the fan cause i was a noob retard evga fixed her (overclocking)

2.I would strive for 1 gigabyte of video ram....512mb is do-able though.

3. When you get it I would manually set the fan speed with nvidia system tools (download at there site)
that 9800gt above is a good bet! or if you REALLY need to save some dough the 8800gt is almost identical performance wise just rebadged (PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG!!!)

I got a 8800gt for sale if interested evga 8800gt 512mb sc (SHAMELESS PLUG)

Dude, L4d doesnt need the best graphics card. But i recomend u try to get 50 bugs more and go into a good IT shop and buy the card with matches ur budget. For 150 bugs u get a good enough graphic card to play l4d on a moderate graphics without problems
take care

For 150 bugs

I dont think hes that poor that hes trading bugs, dude and if he is. Man thats harsh...

That is a pretty low budget, but you should be able to get an NVIDIA 8 series graphics card - preferably 8600/8500 for your budget.

You dont need 1gb or Vram for any resolution that is not 22in or less for most games today

For most of the time setting your cards fan speed is not needed only if you are doing some overclocking or the card seems to run hot all the time.
most of the time the 8800GT is not made anymore get the 9800GT u can get them for around 100$ and they will run L4D very nicely

if he was to get a new card for around 100$ he should get a 9800GT or 9600GT due to the price and the fact that the 9600GT is better then the 8600GT

A 9600 for around £60?

That's news to me!

lol for the price u pay for a 9600gt there is no point not getting the 9800GT due to price

True my friends 256mb 8600gt runs l4d almost max minus maybe AA and vsync....if your only concern is L4d a 8600 512mb would easily pull it off.....

I am just playing to much gta which really makes the 260 sweat! LOL

i got a e2160 oc'ed to 3ghz and a 8800gt running everything maxed out at 1080 resolution. i jsut bought another 8800gt a few days ago for $80.

my other rig has a 9500gt and it doesnt run l4d well maxed out, so i can't recommend buying anything below a 8800gt. or below a 9600gt.

my point is... get urself a powerful graphics card and dont settle for the 9500 or 8600. you dont have to spend more than $100

and screw the xbox
