Actually just last night, me and a friend were on, what we thought was, your garden variety Campaign w/friends, No Mercy-Normal. Just as we were reaching the first alley, 2 Tanks spawned and went after the bots while my friend and I just emptied clips into them.

We got into the safe house and it displayed a score, as if we were in Versus. We attributed it to a glitch and then restarted and everything was fine.

It was most likely a glitch that happened to you and nothing more.

I've been on a few versus server where throughout the map we had 3 tanks and 2 witches. but non at the same time other than the two witches which were about 15 feet away from eachother.

It can happen when there's an admin in the game messing around or when the server has weird configurations.

its happend to me before too. just the other day while playing versus my team got 2 tanks at the same time on the first level of no mercy. it said i was going to be the tank and i was, but he turned into one as well. we even spawned in the exact same spot

ive had 3 or 4 witches on 1 level ... on the riverside part of DT 4 was at the begining and one before the cresendo and one right next to the bus and a final one in the alleyway after the bus...

i even saw them plop out of nowhere. i have no idea what i did to piss off the director

thyats your problem there. death toll unpatched, i was just playing dead air vs (surprsingly i was winning (them) 3 vs 1 (me) as both infected and survivor. but yeah, i got owned by 2 witchs at one point. both right next to each other. accidental pipe bomb.

No i have never seen 2 tanks in a row and i have never used z_spawn tank about a million times.

just the other day the other team got two tank spawn on TWO LEVELS IN A ROW! My team was pretty sure they were cheating. We don't know if we would have gotten a second tank cause both times we killed them with the first one :-D

But one time on blood harvest we went through the level but when it was thier turn they had to fight a tank. I'm sure nobody was cheating this time because it was a group of friends i know.

From what I understand there is a glitch that can be used to induce multiple tanks in versus. Basically in a long level you put your tank all the way to the end and let the computer take over. If its a long enough level another tank will respawn while the AI tank is just making its way to the survivers.. evil.. Or has that been fixed already?
