1. Diablo made by Blizzard?
2. Never played Mad Max, is it fun?
3. If it had zombies in it, it would almost sound like they are making a rip off of L4D lol.

Lol... for a second I thought the game was called, "Diablo meets Mad Max"
Those Kotaku guys are weird, not just the writers but... read the posts on the bottom, some are plain ignorant, some are freaking hilarious. Like the guy asking not to spoil the COVER OF A MAGAZINE...
And then there's a post saying hes been thinking of a four player co op for a long time, except with zombies kekekeke >.<
In the words of the greatest philospher of our time: ROFLROFLROFLROFL
" as well as various Valve-relatd projects—titled Borderlands"
I don't get it...

Is it ........... a ............good mov .............. oh dear god you've never seen or HEARD of the Mad Max films?????????!!!!!!!?????? I'm almost apoplectic with the indignacy of it all!!!!!!!
Hand in your genitals at reception when you leave the Male Club. Go now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Joking aside, I order you to download/rent/buy the trilogy now!!!!!!!!! First film is dated but brutal as all hell. The second (released in the US as 'The Road Warrior') is probably the finest post apocolyptic movie around. The least said about Tina 'We Don't Need Another Hero' Turner in 'Mad Max 3: Beyond Thunderdome' the better.

[It appears a road warrior influence is in the air; just days after id Software announced Rage, Brothers in Arms developer Gearbox Software has revealed Borderlands, which a Game Informer cover story describes as "Diablo meets Mad Max."
Borderlands, in development for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, is a science fiction RPG/FPS hybrid, with support for up to four cooperative players online. Vehicles are likely to be significantly involved. Few further details are currently available, with Game Informer promoting a Borderlands cover story in its September issue and an official announcement likely coming soon.
Update: Gearbox president Randy Pitchford has emailed Shacknews with confirmation of the game announcement. "We are really excited to finally reveal the game since it's been in top-secret production at Gearbox for so long and because of the unbelievable things the team has accomplished with the game play engineering that will push the genre so far forward," he wrote. "Perhaps I'll stop by the Shacknews forums later today and post a few things and maybe answer a few questions..."]

First (madmax) film is dated but brutal as all hell.
As a kid, Road Warrior aka Mad Max 2 was always my favorite because it was more blatantly science fiction apocalypse, and i thought the first one was lame. But i got a Remastered Australian version of Mad Max (1) a little while ago and fuck is that movie ever good. I can understand why it had such a huge impact on action movies of the time.
The apocalyp-ness is a lot more subtle in the first one, but it gives the trilogy a very logical progression from a lawless city of the 'old' world, to a semi organized, though still fucked up, town (BarterTown) in the 'new' world.

The first mad max film was set before the nuclear war, when there was still law and order, which is why it isn't as apocolyptical.

Sounds pretty cool... Hope the RPG elements aren't too 'stiff' like previous games..

August 16, 2007 - Today 2K Games announced it will publish Borderlands, the latest title from Gearbox Software, makers of the Brothers in Arms series. Borderlands is a sci-fi first-person shooter and will be settling on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
The beginning of a new franchise, Borderlands combines elements of Gearbox's other FPS games with vehicular combat and lots of customization options. The developer says it has created an innovative content generation system providing a nearly endless variety of missions, environments, enemies, weapons, item locations, and character modifications.
"Borderlands represents an important evolutionary leap in game design and technology," said Christoph Hartmann, President of 2K. "By utilizing revolutionary new technology to create thousands of unique, randomly generated missions, weapons and situations, Borderlands will raise the bar for next-gen action games."
The upcoming game includes drop in/drop out online co-op play. Gamers can visit Borderlands during the holiday 2008 season.

It's quite likely that this game will be distributed through Steam, seeing as 2K Games intends to distribute all its future titles through Steam.
