Forgive me, I have the WORST flu right now, and I'm at work...

I finally got the Man Vs Tank achievement. Basically, Came in under the generators from the subway and saw the tank hiding...

I executed my bot friends (Expert), used my molotov on the tank, and ran away/hid like a little bitch while he burned to death. :-/

Does ANYONE have a better story on how they got this achievement?

I played as Francis with my friends and had the pills in my hand when the tank came. I ran up to him and punched his nosebone to his brain and instakilled the tank... mind you, it was the left hand (pills were on right). Francis is a badass.

Oh I got one. I did it on the Death Toll finale. I did my usual thing until I got into the house and then killed the bots... I exited through the back like you normally do towards the open area and I started to hear tank music. So stood in the door way as I watched him climb over the fence on fire. Apparently he walked on the barrel to get to me so I unloaded a few rounds and ran away, lol. It actually worked.

Yeah they actually do have achievements but I dont think they can connect their Steam version of L4D to a gamertag like you could on the PC version of Halo 2/3 and such.

i did this last night just to get the acheivement. NMfinally on expert. excuted all but louis.

then put it on easy. went and called the chopper and as the tank came a smoker grabbed louis. so i auto-shottied the shit outta the tank myself.

I feel as though I didn't earn it, but I got it none the less. Needless to say the guy got booted afterwards. Much lawls were had.

On normal, me and my friends went to no mercy finale. We got in the Jesus room and when the tank came I told them all to just stay in the room. I went out molotoved and auto shottied his ass till death. Went back to the Jesus room, my next friend went out and took care of the second one. Washed and repeated until we all had it.

Dead Air finale, got thru the 1st wave, killed my teammates (edit: Bots), and got the tank chasing me around the getaway plane. At one point he got stuck on the other side and I just shot him in his skinny-ass legs until he died!

After the forklift collapse on Death Toll I dealt with most of the horde and ran on ahead, I see a tank and turn round to run to see my team dealing with infected. I turn around ready to take it on myself when I notice the thing stuck between a cement wall and van, I proceed to unload bullets into it.

I found it pretty easy on dead air finale' on expert, was hiding in the cupboard with my team and when the music started i yelled down the mic "im going for man V tank, if any of you fuckers shoot him i'll tk you and jmp on the rescue vehicle myself."

Lit the bastard up and ran out wey left looping round to the back of the rescue plane, pretty easy although you need to have a hunting rifle to take care of the special infected and you need to run your freakin' ass off!!!

Personally I got it on NM5 with bots back when I was newer to the game. The tank spawned at the elevator shaft, but fell all the way down. I noticed that the music hadn't stopped so I assumed that he was still alive, and threw a molotov down there to keep him company. Bingo, Man Vs Tank. I thought it was kind of lame, but then I've achieved it many times since then 'properly' so I don't feel like I don't deserve the achievement :)

I got the achievement on BH5. Whenever we play we normally go outside the bedroom across from the stairs. Well the tank normally climbs through the window, runs upstairs and knocks us off, but this time he got stuck in the window, the bots didnt see him and my friend was playing for the first time so he was hiding behind me lol. You know that cheat for dead air where you jump over that barricade in pt. 3? well, I did on Advanced, and the bots stayed behind, and boom. TANK to the right. I accidentaly lit him on fire with a molotov, and went in the room with the pipes, and basically went back a forth on both sides. He was burning, and went around the pipes because he couldn't fit in the crevasse I was going through. Eventtually, he died. First time doing that cheat, too. Needless to say, I never did that on Expert, just in case!

well im walking up to the elevator shaft and a tank comes...so i run and shoot backwards...and theres no where for me to go so i go in the saferoom and close the door and he couldnt break it i killed him without even realizing i got the achievment untill i saw it pop up :D

My tank achievement was pathetic.
On No Mercy-Subway tank down the stairs in the building after crescendo. Anyways I was in a coop game with random people. They were all checking out rooms tank came down the hall, i lit him up and ran like a bitch back towards the subway. Coop players didn't bother shooting him once just let him go so I got all the tank hits. But the bastards continued on their way and locked themselves in the safe room, I got mauled to death by a hunter on the street just outside the safe room. BASTARDS! It still gave me the achievement though.

Expert, NM4, right after the first flight of stairs. Good health and plenty of healing / items. Got caption for tank, and we had a holy shit moment (expert tank + tight spaces = not good).

So we walked around a bit, killing off stragglers and a few special infected to make it easier. I walked up the stairs, and triggered the tank which started running at me down the hall. Fired a few shots into him, then closed the double doors on him (not sure what it would've done).

Somehow, he bugged out and couldn't break the doors and ended up dying. Best tank kill ever :D

I was playing NM Chapter 2 and it was just after we activated the generator. It was me and two other people who were still alive in Expert mode and they were in Black and White will I was still in yellow with a med-kit and some pills. One person died during the generator event and my partner was almost dead. So I patched him up with a med-kit. We made our way upstairs inside the generator room and then me and my partner got boomered on. I threw a pipe bomb and we ran into the room upstairs and cornered camped. I took some damage but wasn't ready to use pills and my partner was in red again(FUUUUUUUUUUUU-) so we ran into the next room and were going to jump out the window and make a run for the safe room when we heard the tank. My partner got pulled into the next room to me he was incapped and I made the decision to run for the safe house. The tank ignored him and went after me instead. I used my pills and ran for the safehouse. Once I was inside the Tank kept pounding on the door and I basically killed him through the safehouse door. Yep thats about it, also my partner died lol.

No mercy 2, on expert, others got killed by a mass horde, and multiple specials shortly after the ammo near the fire upstairs to the right. Tank spawned, i ran while shooting, got downstairs, got the escalators, and ran up and down the opposite flight with the tank, dodging rock throws... until the thing finally died, :eek: all my pump shotty and well over 150 pistol bullets later ... i got my achievement. :D

yeah, it was hard.. nearly got nailed by the rock a few times, but yeah... having your whole team betting on when you'll die.. just to have them scream no way when you don't... made it all worthwhile.:)

Your team doesnt have to die. They just dont have to shoot at the tank.

I was playing survival at the lighthouse and my whole team died. Tank and zombies come after me, throw a molotov right in front of me, and hide behind rock like a little bitch.

I saw the tanks arm when I finished the lift part in No mercy part 3, I shot my team mates then turned the difficulty to easy. Then I went up to the tank and began shooting him in the arm with my auto shotgun, I then jumped out the window past the pills and the ammo. The tank fallowed suit, so I ran towards the gas station while running and gunning. The tank lazily lobbed rocks which did not hit me. Then I went up the lift and ran into were the tank originally was and grabbed a molotov. I tossed it at the tank and got smoker'ed. I then yelled "save me tank!" The tank killed the smoker accidentally and then got his face shot off by me.

I achieved it awhile ago, but I was playing with three bots on No Mercy 5, and the three bots went into the helicopter, and when another tank spawned; I went somewhere the bots couldn't see the tank and just killed him with the auto-shotty.

Well there was this one time I was at the end of No Mercy with some people. They decided to do the Jesus Room, and I followed. By accident I went idle and was warped to the safe house...just as a tank spawned above. Since my team mates were just bad players they hid in the JR and allowed the tank to go down the elevator shaft to the safe room. So, with my trusty Auto Shotty, I opened fire on the tank as he broke into the safe room with me. Ha ha. Got the M/T achievement. But sadly just as I got to the JR again, BAM Smoker and a Boomer.
