Kill Messages/Kill Spam UI Mod?

I've always found it very silly that Left 4 Dead only features one line of "kill messages" and they're simply "Player killed Player" rather than an awesome weapon icon showing what you killed them with. It's also very annoying because simutaneous kills often cause the line to change before you even notice the first one.

Is there any type of mod that adds kill icons or at least allows more than 1 line of kill messages?
