Hello all!I have noticed that a lot of people on L4D have been creating their own custom radial menus to use in-game. I decided to help the ones who have a hard time editing the RadialMenu.txt by designing a program to generate your own custom menu code.

To those who are not sure what a radial menu is: it's the circular menu in-game which you can open by pressing a corresponding key such as X or Z.

Anyway, this program will generate the code for your own menu and give you the command to bind that menu to a key.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
0.2 MINOR UPDATE

-Added an option to directly open RadialMenu.txt
-Added 4 templates for quick use
-Added the ability to change menu team and state
-Added useful links
-Increased the size of the result window
-------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------

TEXT TAB - this tab is where you assign a name to your menu command you wish to use.

COMMAND TAB - this is where you insert the console command for that specific option (e.g. vocalize PlayerWarnTank).

MENU NAME TAB - assign a name to your custom menu to generate a bind command.

Once you have generated your own custom menu, copy the code to your clipboard (CTRL & C) and open up your RadialMenu.txt file which is commonly located here:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead\left4dead\scripts
Scroll down to the very bottom of the file where the last line should be a "}" (without the quotes).
Paste (CTRL & V) the code from your clipboard one line ABOVE that last curly bracket (it is recommended that you back up the file before you save your edited one).

Now you have saved your new menu file, copy the bind command to your clipboard (remembering to replace KEY_HERE with a preferred key on your keyboard or mouse) to insert into the console. This will assign your custom menu to that specific key you have chosen.

Nice work.
I'm glad people put a good amount of effort into things just to help others.

Great program you made there!
This is definitely useful for many Left 4 Dead players.
It would be even better if you would ad a list of all the commands, so people can choose them.

Thanks both!

I'm not very good at explaining things so hopefully people will understand how to use this.

I wish! xD
The program was actually quite easy to make. I think I spent more time writing out how to use it than actually making the program itself.

Anyway I'm going to play some L4D now so if anyone wants to add me, my steam is shadow-2008@hotmail.co.uk and my Xfire is jj2k6. Feel free to contact me on these if you need any help!

Yeah, I have thought about adding such a feature, but because the menu can support any console command, there would be too many to name! Unless, of course you mean all the vocalize commands.

Oh, and no problem halfeaten and mcvert! I hope you enjoy spamming "TANK!" on the game.

You can make as many menus as you want!

Create a new menu using this generator. Follow the instructions to add it into the RadialMenu.txt file. Once you have done that, copy the bind command that the program generated (replacing KEY_HERE with a key on your keyboard or mouse) and paste it into the console in-game. Press your chosen key and voila!

If you need any further help, my steam is shadow-2008@hotmail.co.uk.

Good job Typhoon808! I downloaded your program and went to work learning how to make my own Radial Menu.

I now have a MAP CHANGE radial menu that lets me switch to a downloaded map I have installed on my server- at will. The center position sends my rcon_password to the server to allow all this. This has sped up my Steam Groups nightly VS game play on downloaded maps considerably!

I also made one for Voting commands. I can call a vote to restart a map, change the difficulty on the fly, or spawn a tank or a witch all without ever having to enter a console command, or bind serveral keys!

I even went a step further with it and looked into the file that you paste the info into (Radialmenu.txt) and copy and pasted enough times to create a Radial Menu for being Survivor, Alive and Survivor, Dead & Infected, Alive and Infected, Dead (edited that info on the header, look for it). That way if I'm infected I can still use the menu, and if I dead I can still use the menu!

Thanks for your efforts!

I'm pretty sure trainer kits are for making trainers, so nope.
I use Visual Studio.

This list may be somewhat outdated but it contains some of the fundamental generic commands for all players.

Well, thanks, but I meant other types like server/spawn commands and such. I don't want to spam vocalize as I think that crap is retarded and vote kick those people.

Here's a comprehensive list containing 1713 entries related to server/spawn commands and the like.

Anyone who has just downloaded the 0.2 version, please re-download it as I fixed a bug which inserts unwanted text into the generated code.

-New screenshot added.
