GV and GI QuakeCon Footage - 8/10/07

Gamevideos.com has posted a 9 minute gameplay video of some map 2 action and a 1UP Wrap-up featuring Left 4 Dead including infected-side footage. Also, Game Informer has posted a two-page preview with a new screenshot and 10 new videos totaling 18 minutes! In the first of the Gamevideos.com videos, the Survivors are just getting pounded on over and over by the boss zombies and makes you almost feel bad for them. A few interesting points: at 1:27 you can see the 'full body awareness' when the player jumps (foot is visible); at 2:00, it looks like Zoey melee attacks the Smoker tongue off of Bill; from 5:15 to 5:40 they struggle to contain a raging Tank; at 6:08 Bill shoots through a door causing a hole; around 8:40 they get double teamed by a Hunter and Smoker at the same time.

The second Gamevideos.com video here from 3:11 to 4:50 features Left 4 Dead including a few short clips from the perspective of the Boomer (shown above at 4:39 puking on Francis).

THE GAME INFORMER VIDEOS ARE AWESOME. We see two very important things we haven't really gotten to in the past: number one, DOOR DESTRUCTION. In video number 6 at :30 you can see the Survivors shooting through the door eventually making it basically a large hole. At 1:55 in the same video it happens again, but this time the entire door crumbles down! Looks very cool. On video number 7 at 1:26 another type of door (wooden) can be seen damaged with wood sticking out. The other important thing is we get to see new parts of the map! Starting at the end of video 8 and into video 9 the Survivors use the elevator outside of the warehouse and go through it. Afterwards, THE SEWER! On video 10 we finally for the first time get to see the sewer, in all of its dark creepy and slimy glory. (pictured below)

For the rest of the video, wow, Zoey gets messed up hardcore. We counted her getting choked by the Smoker 3 times, pounced on, exploded on, and many other horrible things. She actually gets on her third strike before she even upgrades to the M16! She dies, and at the end of video 5 you can hear her screaming in the distance. Video 6 picks up with her after she was rescued, where she gets taken down yet again. Poor Zoey. Thank you Game Informer for showing us new stuff, we love you. Really.
