Four videos, two articles - 9/5/08

Four new videos and two articles have come out from people that got their hands on Left 4 Dead at PAX 2008. Three videos are from GameTrailers.com and the last is from IGN. The first video from GameTrailers is PAX 2008: Xbox 360 Interview which lasts for over three minutes. Optimization for the Xbox 360 is discussed, a Witch encounter is shown and also the butt of an infected.

Metro Gameplay, the second video, shows the Smoker tongue looking good and a small hiccup in framerate. The most interesting video is Multiplayer Gameplay which takes place on the Blood Harvest campaign. The player runs through the cornfield a bit, throws a molotov directly onto a teammate, gets vomited on and held by a Smoker, and witnesses infected tearing some doors down.

IGN's video is a video interview with Left 4 Dead programmer Kerry Davis. Davis mentions an achievement in the game that requires you to go one-on-one versus a Tank (and win) and also the fact that on the Xbox 360, you will not be able to manually choose voice commands for the characters. They are done automatically, and from what we've seen in videos it seems to work perfectly fine.

The first article is from the Monsterfest blog at amctv.com and discusses Gears of War 2, Fallout 3, Dead Space and Left 4 Dead. The blog post is entitled "Left 4 Dead Proves the Most Promising at PAX 2008" and we don't need to say much more.

The final new article is from Sedington86 at 360sync.com and also discusses a whole bunch of games that he was able to play at PAX. Left 4 Dead was his "personal favorite of the show" which seems to be a common theme. Great showing at PAX 2008 for Left 4 Dead and Valve.
