L4D Infected Skins, Booth Answers - 11/7/08
The first day of the Left 4 Dead Early Access demo is over. Lots of good things are being said, like from Arstechnica and Keen and Graev, while at the same time the matchmaking system is taking heat and undergoing work. We asked Mike Booth a few questions about the demo release.
411: How's the first day of the demo going on your end?
Booth: Pretty well. It's very exciting to see everyone play after working on the game for almost 4 years.
411: What's the team doing today?
Booth: We're getting the matchmaking sorted out and a few other minor issues. There are always a few surprises when thousands of people start playing a new title on all of their various hardware configurations.
411: What's the focus for the team going to be from now until November 18th?
Booth: Gathering real-world data from the demo and tuning the game accordingly.
411: What sort of data are you collecting?
Booth: Matchmaking performance and server hosting feedback, for example.
We hope everybody is enjoying their time with L4D, some of you have already shared your initial thoughts: Junch, Keptron, TheDark12, and more. Please post yours on the forums!
We've made a short video showing various Infected skins which you can see below:
All limbs are blast-offable, the proof is right there!
We have added three new forums in the past couple days, an Xbox 360 forum for everything that's specific to the 360 version of L4D, a screenshots and video forum for your screenshots and videos, and finally a maps and mods forum for any and all custom content you may be working on or hoping for.
