L4D Strategy, Reviews, Comic, Abuse-A-Bug - 11/20/08

If you want to have a .01% chance of playing with a Left 4 Dead developer, the official blog has a new post saying that on Saturday, November 22 at 9:00 PM EST you'll have that chance. It's part of Microsoft's Game with Developers event.

MSXbox World has posted their review of Left 4 Dead, giving it a 10 out of 10.

So there you have it...Left 4 Dead is a breath of fresh mountain air in a fall quarter that has been filled with sequels that offer incrementally better graphics yet multiplayer gameplay that is essentially the same as yesteryear. Yes, there have been a lot of great games that have come out this year, but I believe that Left 4 Dead is going to be the one that is remembered the most.

The start of a new and exciting franchise combined with some of the best co-op and competitive multiplayer gameplay seen in years. A game that is new and wonderfully different in an industry that's grown complacent with churning out rehashes.

Left 4 Dead is THE best game I've played in years, and offers one of the best new multiplayer experiences available on the market. Bravo, Valve, game of the year in my books, Left 4 Dead, game of the f***ing year!

On the other side of the coin, Globeandmail.com posted their impressions and titled the article "Left 4 Dead shuns solo gamers". How fucking retarded. I searched but couldn't find an article anywhere titled "Fallout 3 shuns multiplayer gamers".

That's right, don't worry about those pesky Survivors shoving you far away and then shooting you at a safe distance! Type 'kill' into console or just 'bind x kill' to get an instant blow yourself up button, spreading goo everywhere!

Community member Dre ranted on playing L4D on Xbox Live, and I'm sure there's a lot of Xbox players that can agree.

Eminem played an early version of Left 4 Dead and gave some advice, hear his advice at 5:34. Nice find Platypus.

Setting up a Versus match on a private server took about 20+ minutes tonight, I was getting close to raging. The worst bug is when you vote to restart the campaign it just skips one team's turn and you don't find out until one team gets all the way through. That better get fixed quick. Also, lots of crashes on map loads. Arghh.
